agreed on spinning backfist. But I'm talking about uraken hisa uchi and uraken sai uchi. backfist to the belly? really? This is supposed to stun him? Maybe in "Best of the Best" but not for realzies.

Agreed and I personally couldn't make it work to the belly but somebody that has done years of makiwara training might be able to work. Look at somebody like Morio Higaonna and watch clips of him train, I wouldn't want to take much of anything he has to throw at me for long. Osu!

My absolute favorite part of Enshin in general is the throwing. Kicking and punching is fun, but launching someone into the floor? Glorious. Then again, I was more interested in aikido before I started karate, though I was under the mistaken impression that it was like judo but with awesome Magic Pants at the time. My trying out of Matsuno-ryu Jujitsu and wrestling after I moved to Tucson has only made me even more fascinated by it.

I dabbled in aikido and aikijujitsu for a while and the only thing I still really get out of it today is my ukemi and "tai sabaki". More power to anybody else that can make a simple kote gaeishi work on an opponent of the same weight as them or larger that's non compliant. Osu!

Osu! I thought it was made to be a liver or kidney shot. Osu! I'm pretty sure it was originally a spleen strike, I tend to drop it a bit in basics and teach it as a groin strike

I agree about the back fist. You can use it similar to a jab, but if i am going to do that I will just throw the dang jab.
At the moment my favorite techniques are gedan mawashigeri and mikazukigeri.
My least favorite is the jodan mawashi geri. Only because I am not that flexible.

I could proooooobably get a kote gaeshi off on someone my own size, provided 1. I'm grappling them, 2. I get them in an armbar, triangle joke, or other position where I have solid control of their arm from a fairly stable position first, and 3. I don't just break their arm/choke them unconscious and instead spend the time to diddle their wrist.
Otherwise, I can't even get the damn thing on my brother, who is way skinnier and weaker than I am, when he's intent on getting out of it. Overall, though I could have used the ukemi and I still think Magic Aikido Pants are awesome, I'm glad I started in karate instead.
Which is why I like all the judo stuff Kancho put into Enshin, because Judo throws still generally work against people who really, really don't want to be thrown and know how to avoid it.

My least favourites are yoko geri - my foot position is bad on a slow count, so just imagine it on a quick count - and hijiate but only because it takes all the breath out of my lungs when I'm wearing a chest guard. Seriously, I can barely kiai. ;D

But the techniques I absolutely HATE are any or the backfist techniques. I think they are a waste of time. In my old style, I used to like a nice backfist when sparring. Slap their lead hand down with your left hand, then whip over the top and backfist to the head with your right hand. Couldn't do it on Monty though, because he liked it too!

I teach that exact technique to my clicker fighters, it works a treat!!

I forgot about it because I've only done it in sparring, never in competition. It works even when you're doing head punches with boxing gloves . Osu!

My least favorite is yoko geri. It's a very strong technique for me, but I just don't like it. My hips make the strange popping sound too...that weirds me out. Close second is front kick for the same reason.
My favorite basic technique is chudan mawashi geri.
OSU!

Least favourite Chudan Uchi Uke. Find it next to useless in it's basic form. Appreciate it works as a claim but not as a block. I have partially overcome my hatred for this through two variants.
- Palming with the returning hand and using the Chudan Uchi Uke as a secondary block - Turning the hand all the way round in a position of Kake but with the hand closed. As in Garyu kata.
Favourite Would have to be ushiro geri. What's not to like?
