This event is now less than a week away, we have a decent level of entries in all categories, the kids will be fighting from 10am till 2, the Novice adults will be from 2-4ish and the OPEN from 4 onwards. This is looking like being a great even this year, more entries form more organizations and an interesting venue, all we need now is a great audience.
All are welcome of coarse, hope to see you there! Will post results and vids pics etc...

Sorry tmd, can't be there. The lad's team is through to the county cup at 0900hrs on the Sunday. Family first. (I seem to be saying that more and more these days, but I've got to support him while he's doing good sport)

We have the numbers in:
50 Juniors from 8-17 across about 10 categories graded by age and weight, level of contact and 'padding' according to age.
Then we have 30 Novice adults across 3 weights for men and Lw for Women.
THEN we have The Open. 27 fighters from 7 Countries and 10 Organizations. Across all three mens weights and womens weights, the largest category is the mens LW with 9 fighters, 6 in the MW and 5 in the HW, 4 in the Womens LW and 3 in the HW.
Will try and post as much vid and pics as possible, Poster Boy has offered to man the cameras for me for the Open as I tend to get caught up keeping things moving.
this will be unique and special and I hope helps to grow the awareness of Kyokushin in our part of the world and bring orgs closer together.

Congratulations Tmd.
I look forward to the day when there's a genuine British Open, with shared responsibility from all groups for officials and fighters. Tournaments like this and Kyokushinkan's in Scotland show that's a very real possibility.

Seems like these are good times for British knockdown.

What a fantastic day. The venue lived up to expectations, it looked great, had a very different feel to it the fighters loved it, made it more of an event I think. The crowed although still only at 60% capacity was slightly larger than last year’s so we know there is room here to grow. The fighting from the youngest to the oldest was very spirited and as well as being both strong and technical. Our 'systems' were tested with some late entries (lost in cyberspace apparently) and one serious injury requiring medical attentions which was dealt with very professionally and swiftly by our medical team.
Will post a full right up once it’s had time to sink in although some of the spectators from the forum may well be more concise as I didn’t stop running around from 8am till about 7pm….but then the bar opened and it was all good. Don't expect better from Walshy he covered more miles than I did!
Results will be posted just as soon as I have them. Vids will be posted once I’ve got some software that works with my new JVC camera as the stuff that comes with it is very limited. Posterboy was very active with the camera so I am looking forward to seeing some very special pics.

Agreed a great day!! I was delegated meet and great and generally help the fighters through weigh in, medical etc then show them to changing areas etc. I must say that they were all very happy with the venue. Although i was very busy i met some great people and managed to watch some very spirited fighting. Was a pleasure to watch the likes of Spencer Bennett and Emma Markwell, such clean strong fighters. Was a bit sorry not to be fighting, but maybe next time! Re the vids tmd am sure i can help with some software to get them sorted.
