Some people never do ...
I worried about letting people down in my first KD, a huge mistake looking back.
Concentrate on doing your best, not putting on a show. Keep focussed and if you can't knock her over keep driving her off the mat.
Good luck!

Don't panic. The nervous anticipation is worse than the actual fight, which lasts just a few minutes anyway. Breathe and focus.
Good luck!

OSU! Thank you! Working on remaining steady and calm and focusing on me. It's true, I do worry about letting my instructors down, but I should just focus on pushing through it! OSU!

When's the panic usually set in? I am far from experienced enough to compete in a tourney and so I don't really have any advice, but I wish you the best all the same. Take it to them!

OSU! Only just now got home! It was a learning experience. Heh! The judges were confused, and asked for a decision from someone who only saw the end of the last round, nothing else. Haha! My opponent was given the win, and later she said, "that didn't make sense. You won. You totally kicked my ass!" Haha! But it was all to honor Paul Silva and I had a great time, and they've promised to tighten up the judging next year, which I'll return for. Really felt like my only real opponent was my own limitations. That became more real to me today than it ever was before, in Kyokushin. Loved my opponent, great lady, so much spirit! She wants to come visit the dojo, asked me to teach her, heheh. I will refer her to my instructors if she does show up someday. I disagreed with the decision but didn't make a scene, of course! Never argue with the ref or judges! One guy did and I was sure for a moment he was going to get his ass kicked by one of the corner judges, hahaha! I wasn't actually all that upset, mostly bewildered. Was more amused, and very, very tired. So much to learn for next time! OSU!
