Hey Gary what would you charge for Postage on those? I might be interested.
NOTE: Simple and Sinister is A M A Z I N G. There are nuggets in here that I had thoughts of and its great to see it all come together the way Pavel does.
Pavel is onto a new refined method. Wow. This will be my new go to program.

Basically this is the ultimate KB Strength minimalist program.

Thanks for sharing Comrade. Pondering whether to wait for hardcopy, but I may just buy both.
Would you purchase the audio version?

Thanks for sharing Comrade. Pondering whether to wait for hardcopy, but I may just buy both. Would you purchase the audio version? I don't know if I could handle Pavel dictating to me as I drive... I got the Kindle version and may by the Paperback when it is out.

"The Swing is inefficient, that is why it is a great fat burner," explains Dan John "The bike is efficient, and fat people can ride it forever."

I don't know if I could handle Pavel dictating to me as I drive... I heard a sample of it on amazon, it's interesting and colorful. I couldn't wait and have been reading it quietly at my desk. It is interesting to see the differences between the original ETK and the S&S particularly some of the mechanics for the swing. (Have not gotten to the TGU part yet.) In the two hand swing section regarding breathing: "To help you find the breathing rhythm... call out the number of each rep ... Louder! Do not try to be quiet; the swing is not that type of exercise. The swing is full of spirit, like a karate punch. KIAI!!!" Based on the above... the swing is ruled out for early morning or late, late night exercise. In ETK it was taught as a sharp, staccato exhalation taught as the same breathing during the exhalation of a punch. I've always had a hard time with the original way of sharp breathing. I preferred punctuated exertion breathing similar to hitting hard singles on the thai pads or heavy bag. Thoughts?

Lots of great quotes in there. Some old, some new. A few differences from the top of my head that I notice: - Hook grip for kettlebell swing. - Breathing change from staccato, sharp to kiai - Philosophy of PM to S&S - PM: Timed swings to a comfortable stop. S&S: Swing reps, start again when recovered - PM: 4 work days, 3 rest days. S&S: Easy strength approach, every day short workouts - Miss the funny Pavel pictures of the "Don't do it this way." - Grabbing even more Karate influence, no more comrade! Maybe they will start using Sempai, Sensei and Kohai. We will end up washing the gym floors and our senior's cargo pants. - The breakdown of the kettlebell swing is different. Lots of others but those are ones that stick out for now. Good easy read.

I see it as a refinement. Also I think what Pavel has done here is brilliant. I think too many people that read ETK dismissed the PM and rushed to the ROP. Here there is no rushing. The plan calls for you to own that KB till you move to the next one. This one program could last a person years and they will get stronger. I know I can do Get Ups with the 32kg and it wasn't too hard but I have not tried a 40 or a 48kg!

For me the PM made sense, the RoP had too many moving components depending on the alignment of the moon with the day of the week.
I like the ES Style approach to S&S. I was able to make a huge gain on my deadlift with the ES program.
This new S&S program is very doable. It is naturally built in to Dan John's ES program. Sub the bench for TGU and it already calls for a ballistic exercise in rep range of 50.
Dan John ES (Pavel S&S) - No warm up - Gob Squat 10, 10 (S&S has prying squat, halo) - Upper body Push 10 reps (TGU 5L/5R) - Lower body pull 10 reps (Nil) - Upper body pull 10 reps (Nil) - Ballistic Exercise 50 reps (Swings 50 - 100 reps) - Anterior muscle exercise ab wheel (Nil) Frequency Everyday (Same)
I like it.
Edit: They mention Shinkyoku breathing in the book @milkmanx Edit two: Ah the infamous straw breathing. I recall seeing this in practice with the Russian Kyokushin team.
