Hello everyone,
I registered at this board some time ago but never got active here.
But I want to change that now. So I thought I could start by introducing myself.
My name is Jan and I'm from Germany, so my english is not the best, but I'm still working on it.
I started training in Judo at the age of 12 and had fun for a whole decade.
After finishing my school, I moved to another town for the university and tried to find a new martial art. So I found myself in Kickboxing (6 month), Ninjutsu 1 year) and Taekwondo (1 1/2 year). But well, the martial arts just didn’t „feel“ right. I don’t know how to explain it in another way.
At my last Taekwondo Competition I had some injuries, so I couldn’t go on for 2 years. After that time I didn’t even thought about going back there, because I knew there had to be something better that TKD.
One night I watched a Kyokushin event held in Paris at television and fell in love instantly. I moved my chair over to the PC and searched for kyokushin karate and was stunned. There was no dojo near my location. But there was no way I would accept that and found a dojo 2 hours away (by train). So thats where I checked in and loved it right away.
Looks like a love story with a good ending, right? But the problem is that I moved again after a while and could train there anymore. But 6 years later I moved again for my job and found myself a lot of nearer at my old dojo than the last time. And I’ve already registered at that dojo again, even when I knew I couldn’t train right away.
Hopefully I can start at the beginning of 2015… Just once a week, but that will do it for the time beeing.
I look forward to get fired up by talking to you, so thanks for creating this community.
