I'm sure you'll git 'er done, MMX! I can only look on in envy. No 32kgs kb for me.

2-22-15 -db cleans, 2x55lbs, 25, 1/30 secs -neck bridge -tekpi -inverted dl, 10
30 secs is a good rest interval for me.
2-23-15 - db pp, 2x55 lbs, 6+(7x8) on the minute - inverted dl + windshield wipers, 11, 1/15 secs
Using the sweep second hand on my wrist watch keeps the workout orderly.

I just read that post, sounds interesting. I think hitting the sternum height after a few minutes makes it a tough one.

2-24-15 -dips, 24 kgs, 13x2 -pull-ups, 24 kgs, 15x1 -tekpi -neck bridges -pk plank
2-25-15 Rest
2-26-15 -db cleans, 2x55 lbs, 25,1/30 secs -ATFLBR, 20 -tekpi -neck bridge -pk plank
Still avoiding being the hero and finding that a little something is better than a whole lot of nothing due to injury. Nice to have you back CB.

Thanks Meguro. Glad to see that the both you and MMX are still cruising along. I saw some wrestlers warming up at the gym over here.... those neck bridges! Impressive stuff. Neck has always felt to be my week link. (also ankles)

As I age, and slow down, I figure my head on a spindly neck will be a big liability when it comes to takedowns or the occasional head shot. That's the thinking behind the neck bridges ( as well as cleans and OHP), CB. Preventative maintenance, call it. I want to get to chest pressing db/kb's from a back bridge, eventually. It's a process I'm not going to rush. My ankles are also a weak link. I roll them doing nothing more strenuous than crossing the street. gotta implement a plan for the ankles too. 3-1-15 -db cleans, 25, 30 sec intervals -tekpi -neck bridges -pk plank I doubled the work load (2 cleans/30 sec rest interval) for the first 10 reps of the cleans, with the idea of finishing 25 reps in half the time. That's a work rate, I discovered to no surprise, I was only able to sustain for a little bit.

3-2-15 -dips, 24 kgs, 15x2 -pull-ups, 24, kgs, 13x2 -knees to elbows 2x10 -jodan mawashigeri, 100 -tekpi -neck bridge -pk plank
Fixing my jodan mawashigeri is a new little project. It's not broken, but I need so long to warm-up for it that I hardly ever use it. Use it or lose it, as they say.

3-4-15 -db pp, 2x55lbs, 10x10 on the minute -side to side pull-ups 10, 5, 5 -tekpi -neck bridge -pk plank -jodan mawashi geri, 100 When I do 100 pp, the aim is power and endurance. I launch the db's from the rack position, but don't lock out. It's the butterfly kipping pull-up of overhead pressing. On the side-to side pull-ups, I held each pull-up for 5 secs, so after the first set of ten, I couldn't do more than 5 reps. Did a couple pull-overs with the 8 kgs kb in a back bridge (baby steps).

3-6-15 -push-ups, 75 -dips, 24 kgs, 15x2 -pull-ups, 24 kgs, 6x2 -kb swings, 24 kgs, 4x50 -tekpi -neck bridge -pk plank -jodan mawashi geri,100 Every so often I'll do a max set of push-ups just to see how easy it might be to get to 100 reps without trying. The jump from 60 to 70 was pretty easy. Once last week I did 60, then a few days later 70. Maybe I didn't wait long enough, or maybe I'm getting close to the limit, but 75 was a bit more difficult. This is not something I want to grit my teeth and grind away at. An easy 100, maybe. @curlbroscience, I regret not working on Japanese more diligently when I lived in Japan. I hope to speak Italian a little bit better than I do Japanese. At least there's no kanji.

Friday the 13th -db C&PP, 2x55lbs, 5 on the minute, 50 - tekpi -neck bridge -pk plank -mawashi geri
3-12-15 -iso holds on the dip stand -tekpi, pk planks, mawashi geri -push ups, 75
3-11-15 -push press, 5 on the minute, 50 -tekpi, neck bridge, mawashi geri
3-10-15 -db cleans, 2x55lbs, 2 on the 1/2 minute, 30 -dips, 24 kgs, 6x2 -tekpi, neck bridge, pk plank
Last Friday at the dojo we worked on neck cranks and breaks. It didn't occur to me until later that this these technique look a lot like the key moves in Saifa. I'll put up a vid shortly to illustrate.

3-16-15 -db hang power C&P, 2x60lbs, 3 on the min, 30 -ATFLBR 2x20 -neck bridge, pk plank, tekpi, headstand
3-15-15 -db cleans, 2x55 lbs, singles on the half minute, 31 -side to side pull-ups -neck bridge, pk plank, tekpi, headstand, mawashi geri
New to the neck strengthening regimen is the headstand. Balancing is a struggle at the beginning, but like anything else, once you get going. . . I added a couple small plates to the db's after spending a long time with the 55's. No pain, no strain. Uploaded my first iMovie vid to YouTube yesterday and posted it in the "how do you know what your kata is doing blablabla" thread.

3-18-15 -db cleans, 2x60lbs, singles on the 1/2 min,15 -ab roll-outs, 3x15 kneeling to standing -tekpi, headstand/neck bridge, mawashi geri Tried to do some assisted one-armed pull-ups, but the right forearm flexors balked. I blame my kb snatch technique for cranky elbow.

Yeah I have to pretty much lay off the pull ups for a bit. Every time I do a few my left Tennis elbow starts to get fussy...

Ideally we should rest, at a spa, have daily massages and sleep at least 8 hours per night. Not going to happen. 3-19-15 -push-ups, 80 -dips, 24 kgs, 25 -kb swings, 24kgs, 100, 2h -tekpi, neckbridge/headstand Broke through the plateau of 75 easy push-ups, straight back, and on the knuckles. Just trying to go through these as fast as possible, no grinding, power and endurance not strength.

3-24-15 -dbcleans, 2x60lbs, singles on the 30 sec (15), singles on the min (10) -neck bridges, headstand, tekpi
Feeling more confident with the headstand. Hoping that the balance I'm developing there will help with unsupported handstands.
