Judd Reid is planning to open a residential dojo in Pattaya, Thailand,he hopes to have this open in January next year.
He is looking to do a sort of uchu deshi programme over two weeks, training three times a day and eating and living in the same place, Judd speaks Thai and really understands the place.
I am sure he would also welcome anybody who just want to train for a day or a few days and live elswhere but the package makes it easier for anybody who wants to do two weeks intensive training in the sun during the winter, the best time to go is between November and March, or of course any other time of the year if you are training for a tournament etc or just want the experience.
I got talking to Judd because i was stupid enough to ignore the original dojo and i took Bart to a grass roots Muay Thai centre instead, actually going past the original dojo (i thought anybody who called himself "Sifu" in Kyokushin needed avoiding, just didn`t do my homework! ) and it took nearly a year to get some of the training out of him!
My wife used to work in a hotel very near Judd`s place and that is why i started talking to him, he is a real down to earth guy and a lot of Thai things we have in common, except i am too stupid to speak Thai fluently!
I just think this is the perfect holiday for somebody into knockdown, although i must admit even if i was thirty years younger and fit i would only be doing five or six days out of seven because of what the area has to offer, deadly if you like a drink, it`s a like Blackpool and Brighton stuck together with neon and noise and i think there are about ten thousand open air bars in town and the best food money can buy!!
I really think this is going to be popular because of where it is and what it is.
I will post more details when things start to firm up.
