Yoshiji Soeno (添野 義二 Soeno Yoshiji?, born September 29, 1947) is a Japanese karateka from the Kyokushin Kaikan (極真会館) and a retired professional welterweight kickboxer. He is the founder of Shidōkan (士道館) and a Director of Karate in Japan. His title as head of the Shidōkan organization is “Kancho” (Grandmaster - 9th Dan). "Shi-Do-Kan," literally translated, means "The group that lives and trains in the way of the samurai warrior." A martial art of the 21st Century, Shidokan roots date back to hundreds of years to it's Okinawan ancestors. Suffice it is to say, Shidokan is an eclectic combination of Goju-Ryu, Shotokan, Kyokushinkai and Thai Boxing. I watched some of the early Shidokan tournaments around '94, '94 on PPV and was interested by it. Even Cung Le was a former Shidokan champion. It's definitely an endurance test considering you have rounds of knockdown karate rules, Thaiboxing, and MMA. Osu!

Went on the web to have a look for a dojo near me. Got a hit and some numbers. Tried the numbers they didn't work. Drove past the place that the dojo was meant to be and it has closed down. Not happy. Sent an email to the Hombu awaiting a response back. I realise they have more problems at the moment. Will wait for a response.

hokuto12 try checking with Richard Trammel about information on dojos. His Shidokan dojo is located in Atlanta, Ga and is the only one in the southeast United States. His website is www.shidokanatlanta.com I am sure he will be able to help you find a Shidokan dojo. Osu!
