The first advice is great advice about "aiming to the neck" or throat but I don't recommend it for knockdown kumite. It's great for fights allowing punches to the chin/face, though.
Also, please keep in mind that gloves actually help out the jab a lot. You have to modify the jab to work with "mma" gloves or bare knuckle. Some people don't advocate it at all for bareknuckle, especially to the head out of fear of breaking their hands, etc.
It is a great video but I only post these tips so somebody keeps it in mind for knockdown kumite!
Exalt for you Sotocram! Osu!

Osu! Thank you PO1 for the incite.
Some Exalt for you.
Can you explain hw the jab is helped by gloves? Any tidbit of information helps a lot.
Thanks again. Osu!

The Muay Thai or boxing gloves add some 'weight' to your hand and protect it. When you just "pop" the jab out to the face/head you can injure your hand and don't have that added 'weight' anymore.
However, if you're in a real fight and do some light jabs to the face as a distraction or set up that's not a bad strategy. I'd avoid throwing stiff jabs to the face but I have done it myself but prepare for some banged up knuckles.
I've been trying to work on palm strikes ala Bas Rutten style to the head/face the last few years because it's not that hard to break your hands on somebody's head with MT/boxing style punches.
However, as everyone eventually learns not everything works for everyone. Osu!
