Thanks, everyone. The offer to eat all your cakes still stands, you know, just in case you weaken! A princely offer but Monty is valiantly struggling through 2/3rds of a birthday cake for me. What a guy! ;D

Stayed the same. Gotta watch the occasional snacks at work. Man they bring a lot of snacks to this recent job.

Yeah, snacks'll do it! I love snacking, so I changed all my snacks to fruit or low fat yoghurt.

I managed a rather pathetic 2 pound loss. I'm telling myself it's because muscle weighs more than fat.;D I need to get my measurements taken because I've been doing a lot of kettlebell work recently and I can feel a difference in my clothes that's not showing on the scale.

Brilliant, two pounds is a great weight loss. If I manage to lose two pounds a week from now on I'll be really happy.

Just weighed and haven't lost any this week, so last week's 4 pounds will have to do for two weeks! Not sure what I did differently this week but will have to be careful next weekend in Edinburgh.

I forgot to weigh before breakfast, so I'll try to remember tomorrow morning... mind you I haven't dieted at all this week, so I'm not expecting anything

Part of me wants to jump on this but I just need to increase my cardio routine more. I love to eat and my girlfriend is a great cook. She does cook healthy about half the time, the other half probably not so healthy but so damn delicious. I have dieted before in the past, back when I was still fighting and had to make weight (ugh!). I have no excuse but my own laziness of not willing to commit these days. However, I need to. In a couple of weeks I'll post my results (if successful) and what I did to get there. My results are going to be more based from sweat then diet...but I will be eating more sensible, but I won't be cutting down a lot on calorie intake, neither. Small trick I learned in the military which I'll post more on in a few weeks . Hope the rest of you committing to losing weight achieve all your goals. If any of you need to gain weight, you should come visit me and I can get you to gain weight very easily LOL. Even healthy weight for those that actually need to gain it. I'll give a couple of the "tricks": drink a glass of water before every meal, no soda pop (not even diet), no deserts but fruit is allowed, no fast food (burger king, mcdonalds, KFC, etc.), and the last part that is very hard for me is no caffeine (coffee). I will warn you that if you're like most westerners that eat some fast food, drink coffee, drink the occasional soda pop and change to this your bowel movements will change dramatically at some point the first week into it. I say this so you won't be alarmed...last, but not least, drink lots of water. Also means, no alcohol or tobacco products, if you can stay on this kind of "diet" for 2 months while keeping a good cardio and calisthenics routine I guarantee you will lose some weight. Osu!

Good advice about a glass of water before meals, no desserts and no fast food but why no caffeine? As long as you accounted for the milk it wouldn't add anything to your calorie intake. I've also seen a study that showed that high caffeine intake was associated with weight loss through thermogenesis and fat oxidation. Coffee is staying in my diet!

Well done. Does that mean you don't want me to bring any cookies/brownies/baking sundries up with me then?

I've also seen a study that showed that high caffeine intake was associated with weight loss through thermogenesis and fat oxidation. Coffee is staying in my diet! It can be done with coffee and I'll try to find the military literature why at optimum and quickest ways to lose weight they suggest (make) you avoid caffeine. I'm actually going by a "boot camp" diet here which doesn't mean reducing calories but just having "healthy" calories to burn. I'm actually about 60 pounds heavier then I was in my muay thai fighting days which is nuts to me but I wouldn't want to lose much more then 35 pounds now...I was a "late bloomer", my shoulders and chest didn't really come to me until I was about 25-26 LOL. Healthy fighting weight for me now is 190-195..possibly even as low as 185-189 range. Time to sweat.... Osu!
