Congrats on the new purchase,Po1! Was the XD the best shooter and most comfortable of all the contenders? Don't forget the range report.

Congrats on the new purchase,Po1! Was the XD the best shooter and most comfortable of all the contenders? Don't forget the range report. I didn't go with a compact but may, something screamed "buy me" from the 4.5 XDm. I am going to get a crossbreed supertuck holster that I'll actually be able to conceal this with, on my left hip/back area. I will definitely give a range report, if not this weekend, definitely will be hitting up the range during my school break in about 3 weeks. Osu!

i prefer 3" to 4" barrel revolvers with heavier hollow points, 200 grain and up, for urban contingencies, and 320 grain Garrett hard-casts for "four legged. " 357're fine if a compact frame (S&W "J" or "K" frame types) is wanted.
.45ACP S/A pistols are fun for the ranges, but I prize reliability above all and penetration for a sidearm.
Felons or cops only need to kill or maim, but a lone civilian merits a crime stopper that's both reliable and convincing.
