Before I show the video, I know the fighter this happened to well. I was the assistant instructor when he first started Muay Thai, he's now had around 20+ Pro Muay Thai fights, and this was his first Pro MMA fight (He never did Amateur, went right to pro). He's a trainer, and actually was one of the trainers of Israel's opponent. He's a great guy, I have never heard anybody talk bad about his attitude, he always gives respects to his opponents, win or lose. With that being said, this is very ugly, you'll see the knee dislocated towards the end. I talked to Felipe today, who was the other promoter and was with him at the hospital and posted some pics of him in high spirits. He'll be out for probably a year, and I know it's killing him because he literally came out of retirement to do some pro Muay Thai fights again...I was even hoping to set up a pro fight with him and a partner of mine, Jon. I should add that I was told if he didn't get to the ER room fast enough they would have had to amputate, the only thing holding his leg together was his skin... My heart and wishes goes out to Bryan Jones Jr. Here's a pic of him in high spirits in the hospital. Osu!

Here's an older highlight I found of BJ's, I believe he went on to become the 5x PNW champion and had a bunch of pro fights, some of them you see on the highlight. The problem is, BJ fought like I did, when we took fights in Canada, they were all pro, but than we'd come back here to WA and the promoters are greedy here, making us fight amateur just so they don't have to pay us. Canadians actually treat the fighters better and with more respect. Anyway sorry about my rant..here's the highlight.

OUCH! not nice, but one of the risks run in the fight game. At least they could save the leg.

I felt my knee's quivering watching that! At least it never dampened the guys spirits at the hospital!

A few days ago Bryan posted that he's out of the woods for having his leg amputated. I guess there was still a chance they were still going to amputate it but he didn't want to worry anybody! That's typical Bryan Jones Jr. for you! Here's what Bryan had to say: "I did see my Dr yesterday who will be doing my surgeries. He did say “we are out of the wood for loosing the leg“, so I get to keep my leg. I did tear all ligaments and tendons in the knee not just the main 4. So although I do not remember them all but I did tear the PCL, LCL, MCL all the damn LC’s in my leg, lol. My Meniscus is folded in half and turned upside down, so it will need surgery all alone. The goal is one massive fix it all in 6 to 8 weeks once the swelling goes down and things will heal correctly. I will be able to walk and eventually run, more than likely the recovery is going to take a year but you all know me I plan to come back sooner than that without pushing too hard. I can’t say thank you enough to all the support, everyone has been so supportive” The last thing I'd like to encourage all of you to do and pass on is, spread this link, if people click on the link and watch the video, and Bryan gets a million views, and more, he gets money to help pay his medical bills! Every little bit helps, please help my old training partner out, he'd do the same for you, if it was the other way around. www.mmamadhouse.com/news-news-worst-broken-leg-mma-history/Osu!

Just an update, I was watching the UFC last night with Bryan and he seems in high spirits. In fact, as a gift to him they had a custom leg lamp made like from the Christmas Story movie but even cooler looking. I'll see about posting a pic later. Osu!
