One of my wife's instructors is coming over for dinner tonight. He was the chief instructor at the Inosanto acadamy under Guro Dan Inosanto, in Kali/Silat/Pangamut. Always interesting talking about the Filipino arts, and seeing the differences.

Oh that is cool!
Did you learn or discuss anything related to training?

Had a great time. Tried not to talk training the entire time through. Honestly it's always great talking with people from multiple disciplines. It gives me perspective of how much most things are a matter of compromise (ie. shoulder up vs shoulder down when punching) for the specific goal of your training.

Yeah, it's interesting to see you different people/styles approach the same problems. My Silat instructor is promoting the idea of punching with the pinky, ring and middle finger knuckles. He demonstrated how to condition the last two knuckles. . .it revealed how weak my fist is on that end.

Yup. Vertical fist with a weird upward cant to the pinky knuckle. Unlike WC, we've been working on getting to the outside instead of occupying the center line.

I just ran across a cool Filipino boxing channel on YouTube that I had to subscribe to. Here is one sample vid.
