Osu!
I'm hoping Wullie can further explain the A, B, and C class system for those of us that don't know much about it which would include me.
From what I do know it's how all kickboxing/muay thai should be regulated but for some strange reason this system isn't really used in the USA. Osu!

i'm in no way an expert with MT, i much prefer the K1 system, but it is much easier to get fights for my guys under MT rules. anyway basic over view of the A,B,C system-
C class are the most common fights and entry level to the 'big' fights, rules are no elbows or knees to the head, everything else is ok, usually fought over 3x2min rounds or 5x1.5min rounds depending on the promoter. great way to start out and learn a bit of ring craft without getting cut to ribbons in the clinch.
B class are a slightly bigger deal with knees to the head allowed, still no elbows though. most of the folks fighting at that level are pretty tasty. 5x2mins is the norm
A is the the full on rules as stipulated by the Sports Authority of Thailand and what you'd expect from pro stadium fights with elbows and knees allowed to the head.
on the amateur side of things there is 'AM' rules which is much the same rules as 'A' class but the fighters have to wear head, elbow, shin and chest guards (along with usual gloves, groin and gum). there is also 'N' class which is basically just a sparring session against another club and KO's are frowned on. unless your a MT stylist there's no point in taking on on of these fights IMHO.
a thing i've found is they hate it when a Karate based Kickboxer beats them at their own game ;D
