The Kyoku-Sen Dogi was designed and created for a Full Contact Karate style and rigorous movement. The jacket is made up of a 12oz cotton canvas; the type used in most traditional karate dogis. This is designed in a manner to promote freedom of movements, yet tough enough to permit the arms to complete wider circular motions during grabs or throws. The pants are made of a model material that combines cotton and lycra at a Ratio of 97% cotton and 3% lycra. This gives the pants a stretchable and soft feel, yet keeps them breathable while training. Furthermore, this combination of materials provides a more solid comfortable range of motion for those who do and do not saturate their dogis profusely with sweat causing limited kicking range of motion!! I have a couple of these myself and I know MilkmanX has one, Senshido uses them, Wullie uses them and more people on here then I'm sure I'm aware of.
Honestly, the pants on this dogi at first made me think my kicks just got better, that's how good they are at "stretching".
Don't believe me, ask others that use this dogi. Osu!

Sadly, mine got ripped apart. Kelvin, are you still working on a heavier jacket?

The Kyoku-Sen Dogi is the best i've ever worn, the 'Magic Pants' are brilliant, especially if you have 'ahem' sturdy legs. The freedom of movement in the gi is second to none.

Osu!
Gary.
I think his version 2 has a better top but so far it seems it is only availible with the Kyokushin Kanji.
I would like a version 2, Enshin style.
;D

The gi, when new, has a great feel to it. After less than one year of wear, parts of the jacket are torn to shreds. We do grab a lot like Enshin folk... maybe that's the reason. Osu!
Ps. The problem area is on the jacket sides at the waste. And it is a version 1... unsure if version 2 jacket is stronger

I have two, and they're definitely the best I've ever trained in. I love them.

My sleeves at the shoulders are taking a beating...

I wonder if Kelvin could make a cut-from-one-piece one, a bit like a Kudo gi? Ours seem to go on the shoulder/sleeve seams.

The jacket is a double brush cotton 14oz think. It weigh heavier than the V2, I still don't have a name for it. Keen to try?

So far the V2 is still the better version for regular use, but it is not design for grabbing and pulling. I'm still looking for ways to improve the sleeve area to with stand hard core pulling. By the way, I might stop the production of the V1 and only use the V2.

I'll let someone else try the new one first. I'm a poor pensioner so I won't buy one until it's been thoroughly tested. Gary

I'm interested in this but want to get 'kakutogi' embroidered on it..I'll try to find the kanji for you for this..think I have it somewhere. Hopefully have a uniform for my DIY kudo club I've been wanting to start. Down below is "sogo kakutogi" which almost translates into MMA, it's a generic name used for kudo, gloved karate, kickboxing, MMA, etc. in Japan. I have the full sized file of this, too. Osu!
