Anyone going to this tournament in Montreal the last weekend in march? I will be making the drive up there and am curious if there will be many heavy/super heavy weight guys competing in knockdown.

I will be going and competing. I would like to trump up some competition. I am a super heavyweight (6'6" 235) and would like to have more than one fight. I will report back afterword.

Ok, so I traveled to Montreal to compete in this tournament this weekend. Let me start with the good things about it. The Ohan Brothers put on tournament that was managed efficiently and seemed to have little to no hang ups in the schedule for the day. When the knockdown fighting started at 6 pm they had fighters on a stage about 3 feet high, it was lit up with the rest of the room darkened. They played music as the they called the fighters up and they entered the ring. I thought it was very cool. With all that being said that's not the important stuff.
The fighting itself....I will try to say this as respectfully as I can. If you weren't a local then you were not getting a decision win. The judging was spotty at best and very prejudice. I haven't seen the video of my fight yet, but from what I remember my opponent refused to engage and somehow won a decision with only one round, I am used to extensions if there is no clear winner or at least a wazari scored. I stood in the middle of the ring and smiled at the guy, didn't even break a sweat and the fight ended while they were tying my opponents belt back on after it had fallen off. I am very disappointed in the experience.
I want to be clear here that it is not the result of the fight but the way it went down. I was looking forward to the war that usually comes when 2 large knockdown fighters enter the ring and I didn't get it.
Anyway, that's my report back, when I get it I will try to post my fight video here.

Always sorry to hear of a disappointing experience, but if you can look yourself in the mirror and know you prepared properly and gave your all, you still gained from the experience.
Looking forward to seeing the video.
Chin up!

A video would be cool. Anyway, kudos for training and entering the fray. The judging was out of your hands. No shame there.
