I am going to do a KB Swing month in JUNE. Any and all members are welcome to join.
No real rules. Just set a goal and stick to it!
Me I am going for 250-300 KB Swings 5 days a week with a minimum of a 24kg but will mix in the 32kg and maybe some double 16kg work too.
Just 20 days!
Start June 2nd and Finish June 27th.
Even if you did only 100 swings a day that would get you 2000!

Sounds good MMX. I'm always in as this fits in to my scheme. I will do at least 100 swings a day with the volume ramping up throughout the week. The volume really adds up!

Thanks for the advanced notice. I took my kb out for a walk in the park today to introduce a buddy to kb's. Maybe, he'll catch the bug. Btw, walking with a kb in a backpack, even a 16, is no walk in the park.

Depending on my procedure I may have to bump this to middle of may to mid June but still proceeding.
I have a plan.
5x a week 300 swings in blocks of 100 broken down into 5 sets of 20.
I plan to attack this as follows...
Timer for 5x1 min with 20 on the minute and then a 2 minute rest between blocks. 21 minutes total.
Mostly going for one arm swings with the 24kg but when tired switching to 2h.

I misunderstood. I was reading about the 10,000 swing challenge and for a minute thought that's what we were doing in June. I did 200 yesterday in sets of 50. I'll see how this goes for the rest of the week.

I've been really trying to bridge the gap between 100% of my work on the 32kg. Even mixing up the RoP work with strict and push press with the 32kg.I suppose it would be a good month to give the swing a go. I will let you know how it plays out but good to know I will have May to commit 110%.
My plan if it all possible:
334 swings per day my split 32kg 1H swing 10 x 10 and the remainder with the 24kg. Perhaps bumping up the amount of swings on the 32kg each week by 5 sets. 10 x 15, 10 x 20, 10 x 25, 10 x 30. By week 4 I am churning out about 90% of the work.

Pretty insane tricks! Who's up for front splits with a kb balanced on the shoulder?

Thanks for the edit MMX.
Interesting in both Okinawa and China it is called it a stone lock; however Okinawan karate use them as light weights in combination with technique whereas China lifted heavy. I wonder why the difference in weight and philosphy? Did they have more iron available in Russia than concrete?

We've been doing a 10,000 waza month and trying to see how it changes our kumite in the dojo. I must say even finding the energy on top of everything else to do the 325 per day is a bit challenging. Not to mention if you miss a day 650, and 975 it adds up. Great blog from SFG. The egg never taught the chicken anything.

I finished day 1. It was a challenge but not too bad.
