Saw this definition yesterday and thought it was spot on:
"Champions don't think they are special people with a birthright to win. They are people who work hard, learn to focus under pressure and who stretch their abilities when faced with challenges"
So if you want to win but aren't quite getting the results, you owe it to yourself to find out which part is missing, not just think "I hope I have better luck next time"

I think it helps to have a good coach to notice what is missing and help fill in the gaps. For me, I could never hear what my side was shouting in the middle of a match. It was all tunnel vision with the volume turned down.

The day of the tournament should be the easiest part of the last 90 - 120 days ... Or any challenge really like a Shodan test, a Kettlebell cert or a Powerlifting meet.

My shodan test was rough, i was coming off a back injury ... so i was not in a proper shape, but i was tournament fighter at the time so i scrapped through on that experience ...
