OSU, I'm not sure, to be honest! I know he's retired from it now and running his own gym. He in turn invited me to an invitational tournament. I'm thinking about it, but my leg is still really messed up, and it's in one month, so I doubt I'll be well enough to compete by then. It'd only be point sparring, which he told me was a bit lighter than one gets in a typical Kyokushin class kumite round, unless I wanted to participate in the Sambo section of the tournament. I told him my ground game consisted of me sitting on the other person and hoping that my weight rendered them helpless, lawl. OSU

Taking the little fella out today as he's picking up. Can't overstate how relieved I am, he's been absolutely lifeless for a week so it's great to see his energy and strength returning.
Phew!

Thanks both. People don't always realise how gut-wrenching it is to see your children unwell. And how relieved you feel as they recover.
In a much more positive frame of mind today, so cooking up a treat for tomorrow!

so what`s the treat Gary? I'll let Monty or Ros tell you about it afterwards ... Just kidding, nothing special planned, just keep grinding those reps out under pressure 'till it all happens on instinct. Gary

You like to keep us nervous, don't you? ;D Right, I suppose I need to drag myself away from here and make a start on my next assignment

I"m off until the 28th from school so I'm just now waking up at the late time of 8 am(I know how to sleep in! lol)! Brewing some coffee and going to have a bagel after that I'm on a mission to get a haircut and a new driver's license...and hopefully to pass my emission's test for my truck which I should pass. Osu!

Baking some ribs. I have a special way of doing it that involves spicy breadding (done these days with a low carb flour, heh.) They have another 45 minutes or so to go and the smell is driving me INSANE. Going to try to work out at least a little bit, taking the housemate to the pharmacy, wishing I had the money to go out and be social. OSU!

Watched 'IRONCLAD' today. Fighting from start to finish and two people trying to find somewhere private. Wish I hadn't bothered now, it reminded me of Saturday nights in my house.

Went to the dojo, yay! Worked on my kata for as long as my knee was okay with it. Frustrated, because doing a proper forward stance is bad on the knee. But I compromised and did okay. Just have to be careful and not let it all become too bad of a habit. Stretched a lot (knee) and then when I decided my knee couldn't handle more kata safely, because I am learning to take care of myself and stuff, I asked Sensei if I could hit stuff. Mostly I pounded the makiwara. We have these interesting straw "tiles" that look a bit like they could be pieces of welcome mat... I managed to pound a nice deep dent into the middle one. Felt really gratifying. Also pounded on the punching bag. Also pounded on Sensei a bit. Then we sparred, though I tried to not kick. Feel weird not kicking, as I had really come to love it before I got injured again. Now I feel partly disarmed. Got my butt kicked but had fun doing it. I actually checked out for about 5 seconds though, and then realized that he wasn't stopping, so I fought back again. Heh! HEY GUYS Did you know that if you are trying to hammerfist a bruise on someone's arm, and their elbow-block, slamming the bone into said elbow on your forearm just above the wrists, on the soft underside, is not a good idea? You would think I would have learned this by now, but the huge goose-egg on my arm says different. I keep poking at it and giggling. It's kinda SPONGY. Yay for ice packs and ibuprofen. OSU

Dropped one of our cats off at the vet's today. He's having a Lump removed (Again) from the base of his tail. Had to crawl under the spare bed to get him! Poor little thing was shaking in the cat cage as I drove him there
