Thank you for posting info on this dojo. Ironcastknight has trained there before and I asked him questions about it because I plan on going to Guam some time on vacation in 2012. Exalt for you. Osu!

Ironcastknight trained at our "old" location for about a month or so. We moved to our full time location in January of 2009 and now have classes 5 days a week, 2 studios and a fight team for knockdown karate. Most people don't come to Guam for vacation from the US Mainland unless it is to visit family. If you have any questions about Guam please let me know, I'm sure I have a different perspective than ICK does.

My girlfriend is from Guam is why I would be going there, to visit her family. Her parents are opposed to coming here to the main land. So if things are going as they currently are with her I'll be going there in 2012...fngers crossed. Osu!

Yeah, the Days Inn was a special place. All that mildew and sweaty carpet and poor lighting really added to the atmosphere. Then my clumsy A**hole of a dad had to break a chunk off my leg, then, by the time it was healed, we moved off island.
As for Guam, I did live there for five years, but I only got into karate during the last year and Kyokushin only at the last month and a half of that year, but I still remember you guys very, very fondly. Guam not so much, because I'm arachnophobic.

Po1, that's cool. A lot of people from Guam living in the Seattle / Tacoma area. I have a lot of friends there. One of our former students is going to SU. She trains with us when she comes back for break. Try to come during the dry season which is December - May.
ICK, how did that happen? Three of the students from your "group" (Days Inn) are green belt now. Everyone else either comes incosistently or stopped all together when we moved.

I was throwing a roundhouse, and he kneed me in the shin at just the right angle and hard enough to bust off an inch and a half long and maybe a quarter inch wide splinter right off the blockin' spot on my left leg. I probably could have wrapped it up and just blocked more with my thighs, but I made the slightly dubious decision of listening to my dad and not training for the twoish months I had left.
I'm glad those three are doing well, and I'm kind of envious. Still, I'm making due with what I'm given, and hopefully some day I won't be a complete embarrassment.

I think she stopped by a few times, but have not seen her in some time. To bad, she seemed like a pretty tough gal. Would have liked to to kick some of the guys upside the head.
