My flexability is my weakest area so i tend to neglect it... It's pretty weak for me too - can you share some stretches with us?

How was the sparring? Anything new you learned? I always end up finding something either that has improved or that I need to improve. Osu! Well this week i learnt to stop overthinking stuff and just try to let it flow a bit more. It seems if i keep thinking too much the moment is gone and i just end up tense and my timing is shot! Also learnt that i am really relying on setting up and using my shita tsuki too much!!

To be honest i haven't really got anything special, i just use the stretches we do in class. I do find the partner stretches work well for me and make me hold the stretch longer. My daughter does an hour special flexability and stretch class for her dance course, so i will grill her for some new stuff!! Bear with me and i'll see what she comes up with

I have a really flexible guy in my class who stretches all the time. I can maybe get some pictures of different stretches to post for you

Good training this week! Dojo on Tuesday....started at 6 helping teaching the junior class, then an hour and a half general class. We did circuit training with sparring inbetween, so it went minute on the exercise then minute sparring. We went round the circuit once (ten stations) then dropped to 30 seconds on each with 30 seconds fight, so as explosive as possible. Somehow i managed to get every tough fighter in the class! Most more than once, in fact our top fighter was there and managed to get him about 6 or 7 times . I was absolutly battered, but felt like i gave a good account of myself as well, had bruises galore ;D After the general class there is a special high grade class, for going through kata and kihon. Now after that hard first class my brain went to mush and when sensei said pinan go.....i just couldn't remember it at all! Just shows how a tired brain and body can affect you. No training Wednesday or Thursday, had a jarred shoulder from a couple of hard shots on Tuesday (nice bruise as well). Friday night training was mainly bagwork. Felt good with the punches and most kicks, but still got a lot of work to do on the jodan. Really stretching to get high enough and losing all the power. Osu

Not posted in this for aggessss!!! Thought i'd do a quick update...Training has been a bit all over the place for the last few months, what with busy family life and a lingering hip joint strain (awaiting physio on that) it's been hard to train regularly. Have managed at least once a week at the dojo though, and have been practicing kihon etc at home.
At the weekend though i successfully graded for first kyu. It was a hard push, made harder by my injury really was painful at some points. Made it through though, although i thought i was going to puke half way through the 25 fights. The fighters that came down for the kumite section were excellent though and pushed me through to the end.
So I have decided now that this next year is going to be shodan year, going to be training all out and preparing for first dan. Hopfully if all goes well this time next year i will be able to grade for black!! Osu
