Trying to squeeze in some mini-workouts throughout the day, which worked out fairly well today. Throughout the day I did 50 seiken push-ups, 25 assisted pistols with each leg, and 6 pull-ups. Did Sanchin, Tensho, and Gekisai Sho as well on my back deck.
My main workout was a quick one, as I was working around the house a bit doing some weatherproofing, running to the hardware store, and making a few repairs in our master bathroom. I did three sets of the following as one big circuit with no rest in between each exercise or set.
**Sanchin kata **Tensho kata **Chishi exercise - first set 20 reps each arm, second set 15, third set 10. Switched hands every 5 reps.
Nice little workout. A quick stretch out later, and I'm getting ready for work.

Class tonight! Thanks to my beautiful understanding wife for letting me go. Shihan, a new student (Jeff), and I tonight. We warmed up individually then worked a variety of kicks. I had never tried kube mawashi geri while holding the obi, definitely a lot tougher to get the right height. Worked on some basic kihon (tettsui, uraken, seiken) and one of Shihan's favorite drill. Turn into a kiba dachi at the 45 while performing a Tensho cover with the lead hand, then "lock" into zenkutsu dachi as you execute a gyaku tsuki. Repeat for reps. We first did it in the air, then Shihan held the phone book for us and let us whack away. Stance was a bit shaky but the punches hit nicely I thought.
We then did some light body conditioning, a few basic kumite drills, and then finished by me showing Shihan my homemade chishi and the exercise I usually do (he was interested) and working on Gekisai Sho under his tutelage to iron out a few things.

More mini workouts today. Did 53 seiken push-ups on the wooden floor, 15 assisted pistols, and 14 pull-ups. I then repeated the same little circuit I did the other day with the chishi and kata (Sanchin and Tensho).
Was going to take the dog for a run but unfortunately house chores and our darn Christmas lights sucked up all that time.

Busy with setting up the Christmas lights, decorations, and trees but still managed to squeeze in a few little workouts. 55 seiken push-ups on my hardwood floor, 20 assisted pistols per leg, and a measly 4 pull-ups (fair amount of DOMS today, with this new pull-up routine it's high volume for several weeks so it's going to take some getting used to). I worked a lot on kata today, performing one rep of each and then focusing on Pinan Sono Go for a while.

Sounds good BigAl.
Yeah this time of year tends to cut into my workouts too.

Always a busy holiday, MilkManX, but what're you gonna do? Just have to improvise sometimes I guess.
Despite getting only about 5 hours of sleep today and it being broken up in the middle, I still got in a good workout tonight. Did most of my usual mini workouts (Sanchin, Tensho, 45 seiken push-ups on the wooden floor, and 25 assisted pistols) throughout the day.
Before work, I warmed up with some joint rotations/dynamic stretching and worked some ido geiko drills with an emphasis on kicks, footwork drills, and some spinning kick practice. Cooled down with some much needed deep stretching.

Though it was a very busy day I still managed to squeeze in a quick workout before work. Rested the knuckles for today so no seiken push-ups. Warmed up with junbi undo then worked the majority of our kihon from sanchin dachi, 20 reps each. I then worked on the first 10 Kuma Dojo goshin-jutsu combinations, 10 reps each side. For fun, I then laid on the floor and worked some lying "kicks" focusing on the lower leg extension and snapping it from the chamber. Worked front kicks, side kicks, and round kicks, 20 reps each side. Finished with some deep stretching.

Forgot to keep the updates going. Yesterday (12/18) I did my mini workouts throughout the day (43 seiken pushiups, 20 assisted pistols, and 12 pull-ups) as well as some dynamic stretching, planks, Sanchin, and Tensho.
After dinner I took my dog for a nice walk then once I got home I hopped into some kata training. Did sectional training for Taikyoku Sono Ichi (10 reps each part), then performed all the other kata once. I then did some isometric stretching for the front split and side split. Not a bad little workout overall.

They are slowly becoming one of my favorite things to do. I can crank out a single shaky rep per leg right now, but am trying to build up some volume. I think they're helping my kicks and stances a lot.

Just some small workouts today. Did my planks, dynamic stretching, 45 seiken push-ups on the floor, 20 assisted pistols, and some kata (Sanchin and Tensho), as well as a chambering exercise I've been working on. I was looking forward to doing a kihon workout followed by some running and yoga, but unfortunately some husbandly duties called. It seems my son has learned how to put things into his pockets, and a blue crayon somehow got all over our whole load of clothes. Needless to say, BigAl was cleaning out the dryer, running to the store, and trying to assist in my wife's crisis.

I think I'll try a couple later This is the approach I've been using, it's working out pretty well for me. www.bodybuilding.com/fun/mahler2.htmI take my dog out several times a day, so every time I let him out I hit up the stairs on my deck and crank out a set with each leg.
