If anybody needs an entry form send a message and I can forward one on. Or email Sensei Campbell directly.

Thanks for the wishes. Won my fight. It was a real challenge as I had to fight one of my students. However we both fought hard. My students all fought well. Video youtu.be/0gNi_s7LnGc unfortunatly, the next fight drifted in front of the camera for most of the fight. I will update link when another video is posted. (Ev, your up)

With all the apps and what not I had on my iPhone I had to delete a lot of pics and vids to make sure I had room to record my students! Definitely buying a separate digi video camera before the next tournament that is good quality.
I only had two students that competed, both of them did me proud. Kat stuck to what I was working with in her first fight and it paid off. Dominic came in strong, having one hell of a strong fight, and tied with his opponent going into an overtime round, and I believe the only knockdown match at this tournament to do so. However, in the overtime round he got flash KO'd by a jodan mawashi geri. However, Dominic didn't stick to the game plan nor listen to me well during his match...something I will be working on with him more in the future but he's leaving for China in late August for a study abroad opportunity. Anyhow, Kat went on to fight for first place in her division and lost by decision. In my opinion I would have liked to see Kat go into an OT extension, she wasn't hurt/downed/knocked down/etc. but them's the breaks. Dominic fought again which surprised me for third place but his opponent had more experience on him and they went the distance, but his opponent won which was a good/fair call.
I don't talk much with others at a tournament until after those I trained/cornered are done fighting. It was a very long day for me yesterday due to not sleeping for shize the night before.
I will work on getting the fights of my students on youtube later today. I thought it was a good tournament overall. Osu!

Glad to hear your students did well, PO1!
Did the ring style use boxing gloves or mma gloves?
How did Toshiki Sensei from Yamaki karate fair? Osu!

OSU!
Toshiki won first place in his division. :} He got taken out but it was by an illegal strike, so the other guy got disqualified, in the final fight... but I think Toshiki would have won anyway, heh.
Ring style used hm, not sure what kind they were exactly. Thicker than the MMA gloves I use, but not big huge boxing gloves. P01 would know.
I have videos of every single adult fight but I am at my parent's place. I'll try to upload videos at night when they're in bed. Hopefully they won't take forever, lol! Might be a week before they are all up though, just as a warning. :}
Best tournament I've seen so far! First actual Kyokushin tournament too... but man there were SO many injuries!
The highlight for me was the woman who fought ring style against men. She was the only woman to enter, so they let her fight the men. She got second place in her division, winning her first fight (REALLY intense two round fought too) and losing the second fight against someone who was an instructor- she is a Kyokushin blue belt!
OSU!

They were just bigger MMA gloves, like what amateur fighters wear or some wear for sparring.
That lady isn't actually Kyokushin, her instructor gained a sandan under Vernon Owens who used to be an Enshin godan years ago, and I believe was the first Enshin godan under Ninomiya. Gregory Lewis is the instructor and he's also an experienced kickboxer under the tutelage of Haru Shimanishi (AMC cofounder and HMC founder/instructor).
Gregory Lewis has a standard similar to BJJ how he promotes his students, too. Osu!

In all honesty, I won't let my students fight the opposite sex when they're above the age of 10 (I don't teach anybody under 18-19 right now anyway), it just creates too many possible negative outcomes, either way how the fight can go.
For ring style, Paul Silva's opponent surprised not only Paul, but me too...if there weren't three hard knees to Paul's groin I think it would have been a better entertaining fight. Paul's opponent had a strong clinch and throw game.
I was impressed by the younger man who I believe was a blue belt Kyokushin in ring style, he has a natural strong right hand. Needs to work on keeping his hands up better but he seems naturally talented at face punches without much boxing/kickboxing experience.
The knockdown matches were more entertaining than the ring style overall, but that's just my opinion. There was a very impressive yellow belt, I believe from Muteki dojo that had some good placement of kicks and looked much better then the typical yellow belt.
I take nothing away from anybody that competed, it takes courage to step up and compete.
I was a bit surprised by lack of local brown/black belts in the tournament, especially in the Women's division. It seemed like there were more that entered the semi-knockdown in Ellensburg this past fall, and I was expecting more to enter this one, oh well. Osu!

Yep, there were no other women fighting ring style, so she chose to fight the men, and she did just fine. :} www.youtube.com/user/evergray/videosAll but two of the adult knockdown fights are here, the most recently uploaded ones. :}
