Yeah I think the Enshin dojos are in Melborne?
It is a great book. My only quibble is the revised Edition photos had their gamma messed up.

Yes there is only dojos in Melbourne at the moment. There is some guy that is claiming to be Sabaki training here in Sydney and that he trained in Japan with Masuda Sensei and also in Denver with Kancho. But I think his claims about affiliation aren't true as when the Hombu answered my question about dojos they didn't mention him in Sydney

I'm currently reading "The limit" about early motor racing.
Stirring stuff. The death rate at one point (in the early 50's) was higher than that of WW2 fighter pilots. Crazy.

I'm currently on the second book in the "Game of Thrones" series, I think it's called a clash of kings?

"Sharpening the Warriors Edge" by Bruce K Siddle. I'll quickly add that I'm not a warrior, but the notes on training methodology are interesting.
The part about how we need to 'feel' a drill within 25 repetitions or 3 minutes or we mentally relegate it to too complex and unworkable under pressure is very apt.
Although a bit dated now (1995) it's still worth a read. As Lisa would say, I just love it when I find a book that agrees with me ...

Just laughing at a book review on Amazon.
The reviewer was moaning that although the author was an acknowledged expert in the MMA field, he'd not included any secrets or tips in his book, just basics and lots of attention to detail.
Well, well.
Here's the secret for free. Study the basics, pay attention to the details, then sweat, rinse and repeat.
It's not rocket science ...

Currently reading "The Parthian" by Peter Darman as with a lot of my books it's based around the time when Rome was the big dog, it's essentially about a Parthian Prince who ended up in Spartacus' Army

Just bought - God of War: The Epic Story of Alexander the Great - on Kindle.
700 pages, so it should keep me out of mischief for a while ...

So far, it's brilliant.
If you like Pressfield - and I think Gates of Fire is one of his best - you'll love this.

Took a while to get used to, but I love it now.
I don't use it for training books though, where I want to refer back to previous chapters etc as the lack of numbering makes that a pain in the arse.
For novels / history etc, just the job.
Gary
PS I expect someone will now tell me there's a button I can press to bring up page numbers ...

I want to get one but having a hard time deciding.
I like the E-Ink ones since they are easy on the eyes but the tablet ones are tempting! Gah.
