Saw this on Ross Enamait's FB page and thought I'd share it here:

I can really relate to that. I was beset by nerves until that first exchange of blows then got on with the job. Most (if they're honest) feel the same. Fear is the big elephant in the room though and people - quite understandably - are reluctant to admit it.
It's normal to be scared. In my case the two big fears were looking a chump and letting people down, not physical pain. It still made me feel terrible though. I was relieved when I heard others felt the same, so I'm happy to pass that message on.

Yes very true. Even now sometimes I get some fear going into sparring(really of being injured in a long term way) but once I get in there it passes.

OSU, I haven't fought in a tournament, but I am familiar with the feeling... I hope when I get to tournament fighting, it'll hold true for me!
