I was wondering if anyone knew if any knockdown tournaments are going to be in the midwest anytime in the near?

What area are you in?
You have the Sabaki Challenge in Denver...also the Yoshukai Superfights(which this year only has Semi Knockdown...)
Let's see if anyone else knows..

I know it is not midwest, but our Yoshukai Superfights tournament will be held in July this year in Oxford, Alabama. As of now, we will only have semi-knockdown divisions this year. However, I have something in the works that may be changing back to semi and knockdown divisions.

Hmm, does the Shidokan dojo in Chicago throw any tournaments? Off the top of my head, I don't know of any tournaments but I'd check with the Chicago Shidokan dojo to see if they know of any. Osu!

I don't think Shidokan in Chicago throws any strictly knockdown tournaments any more. To be honest, I have been wondering just how much karate goes on there. From what I can gather, it is more of a kickboxing/mma gym now. They would definitely be the group to ask, though.
If i'm not mistaken, there is a Kyokushin dojo that is very competition/fight oriented in the Chicago area. Let me see if I can find the link. I know for a fact Miura dojo holds no knockdown tournaments.
IKO 1 contact in the Chicago area is Shihan Leslaw Samitowski. Sorry, couldn't find a website link. He should be able to direct you to some knockdown tournaments in your area. His email is..

I'm not being politically negative here, but my experience with IKO 1 dojo in the USA is, there tournaments are strictly for IKO 1 members. I have nothing but respect for IKO 1 members, so please don't take this negatively anybody, just stating my experience. Osu!

Maybe Shihan Samitowski can point MJW in the right direction. Osu!
