Steel comp bells are real pretty, like giant gum balls .

So I unloaded my 24 to see what effect, if any, weighted swings might have on the snatches. Drumroll please. . . . Nada. Granted, it was only a short time, but I found that after doing two sets of 50 snatches, my times were unaffected if not maybe a little slower (2'32", 2'27"). It occurred to me that when the 24 was new, and my capacity for high volume swings was low, that breathing ladders were an easy way to increase capacity. I will keep the db push press/holds, and start on the snatch breathing ladders.

An interesting effect regarding the 24kg and visualization. The 24kg was the big dog in my KB family overshadowing all in size. Now that I have the 32kg I look at the 24kg as if it were the 16kg. I have noticed a bit of increased confidence when I grip the 24kg bell and hoist. We shall see what happens. It definitely looks to the eye to be much smaller.

I have comp bells, so I don't notice the size difference. You will feel the difference though. A buddy of mine, Roberto, places limits on himself. He can tell from the number, 24 kgs, that it is too much for him, even 16. I want to kick his ass to motivate him, but he already knows what he can't do. It's sad in a way. I knew I bit a bit more than I could chew when I started out with 24, but I was determined to get it done. At the time, two handed swings were about all I could manage. Now, well. . . I have no doubt that you, CB, will be manhandling that 32 in no time. It is all about the proper attitude.
