I think how you feel is at least as important as the data.
Chucking KB's about feels good. If you feel good you feel strong. If you feel strong you have reserves of willpower etc to draw on as required.

Pretty much what Pavel has been saying and touting as the WTH effect.
I know I myself feel stronger, more flexible, and have more conditioning than ever since using them.

I agree and I hoped that they would do some research regarding the effect on deadlift, squat etc.
The KB has a way of drilling the fundamental movements and improving overall technique in a manner that is safe.
Chucking KBs feels great. Missing reps or failing attempts is a serious mind blow to your inner lifter.

I think how you feel is at least as important as the data. As a scientist I have to disagree! If how you feel has any impact on the results - which I'm sure it does - it will manifest in the data anyway. It would be nice to see the full text of the research.

I am an advocate of kb exercises, but the abstract of the article did not sound like there was anything in the study we didn't already know: do something over a 10 week period and at the end, you will be a little better. I wish they tried to answer a tougher question. Maybe it is buried deep in the study. As the abstract is written, I don't get that feeling.

I just base it on my personal experiences Ros, not the numbers.
I feel 'strong' with the KB's while with other types of training I usually felt stiff or tired. Maybe the KB's are self-regulating and we tend not to overdo it.
As for the WTH? effect, it's been demonstrated in studies that KB's have a general training effect improving different disciplines (military PT tests) as much or more than direct training. At first I was cynical (who me?) about that, thinking it was just advertising, but then I noticed my general fitness felt better after working with them.
So who knows? Hard to prove a feeling.
