It's no big deal, but wanted to publicly say that I resigned from the IKKU. I wasn't pressured to leave, but the fact of the matter is at my rank, being in an organization should, in my opinion, be done if you're active in training/teaching others...or active in spreading the organization by promoting tournaments, fight cards, and so forth. For almost the past year, I haven't done any of that, my reasons to those of you that know me, already know, I'm busy with work and school....what little bit of free time I do have, I spend with Cynthia or my family/friends.
The other reason is, I have over the last few years, become very disenchanted with kata. Before I "fell" into Kyokushin karate, I had a lot of kata crammed down my throat.
I have no plans of joining any other organization in the near future. I haven't quit martial arts, but I strongly feel like being in an org as an instructor means you should be pulling your weight, which I wasn't. Even though I have a valid reason not to be, that's no excuse.
With all of that being said, once school is over in a year, I'll be seeing some of you on the mats...and having a beer with you afterwards. Osu!

I wish you well with whatever path you decide to take.
It's a hell of a wrench standing down.

Thanks Gary!
I've left a couple organizations before, and my reasons for leaving them is because I saw things happen that I didn't want to be associated with. I didn't leave the IKKU for anything like that, and wish the IKKU lots of success in the future. My reasons for leaving the IKKU are exactly why I said they were, and why I wanted them to be known publicly. Osu!

Wish you well, if you're looking for running YOUR dojo as you want and all grades are acknowledged and ratified Cobra Martial Arts Association might be up your street (headed by Andy Morell and have a large presence in Scotland too) Its rather goood value for money for Liability Insurance and member to member insurance
