Haha. I guess it was easier than banning unemployment, poverty and ignorance.
On my own study of Silat, Pencak as well as Silat Sufian Bela Diri and soon Buka Lingkaran, I have found that it complements karate very well. What karate treats with broad brush strokes, the Silat applies the important fine details. You know that move we use in karate to break a stack of boards with hiji uchi ( kiba dachi and a downward elbow strike), Silat teaches you how to apply that move to takedown an opponent. The target is that notch where the bottom of the throat meets the top of the sternum. The tricky part is maneuvering your opponent into a position to receive the strike- all part of the details. Fascinating stuff from a karate perspective.
