It's not really innovative and daring any more though, is it? No But it makes a change when it's properly done. It's a sport after all is said and done so I suppose the vulnerability on the floor argument is secondary to entertainment. Knockdown is losing audiences to MMA so anything that keeps people interested is essential. Gary

That has been popular for a good almost 10 years. Kaiten Geri or sometimes kaiten mawashi Geri is what I have heard it called. 12 years of trying and I finally pulled one off. spencer

12 years of trying and I finally pulled one off. I wish you could see the effort I'm making to not say something inappropriately smutty. I'm nearly bursting. Oh, and welcome to the forum, Spencer!

Hmmm pulling it off?? as sempai Spencer and I are from Wales, that expression doesn't 'ring the bell' We term your joke more as 'cracking one off' ! Anyway..........Spencer has performed this technique approx. 40 times & scored with it erm.....twice!!! (by his own admission) that's why he is known locally as 'skywalker'! yann

What a risky kick, imho. I would imagine that the contact ratio is quite low, but, I could be wrong. My style doesn't kick above the waist, and if it did, and this kick was taught, I'd still not try it because if I miss, I'm a dead duck on the ground. That's just me.

Yeah, the success rate is not very high, from what I have seen.

I don't like them myself, if they don't land, a point should be given to the other side. Would be more interested in Tobi Ushiro Mawashi Geri instead.

Totally agree, there's nothing wrong with a falling down kick www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBTVhbL3jGsIt's not a proper Tobi but you get the picture, From what I have found the guy doing the kick is actually a Kyokushin Fighter, just "wrongly" worded by the person uploading the video The Proper way to do the kick www.youtube.com/watch?v=crGlpd1ulgcPersonally, I would be bowing to the person who got this one out of the bg to win www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmHRhgq6UGM
