I am pleased to announce the date for this years International Karate Kyokushinkaikan Open will be Saturday the 26th of April 2014. All fighters with 2 years + experience welcome in the Open. There is a Novice category but this is only for either IKK fighters or under direct agreement with the submitting organization, generally the un-written rule is if they have supported the event previously or we have attended their Novice event they are welcome. There will be juniors and cadets fighting too - this again is the same as the Novice, please note this starts at 10am. The event is a great one to attend as a fighter or spectator the venue this year reverts back to a sports hall as the costs for the spectators, we felt was too high a price to pay for being in the local theatre. The crowed are very vocal and supportive and the fighting standard (and reffing standard) is very high - I say so myself but it is known for being a well run and fairly judged event. With regards to accommodation there is a Premier Inn - Folkstone (Channel Tunnel) just up the road still on the cheep rates (£29.00 per night) if you get booking soon Look forward to seeing you all, PM for further details.

This is a well run tournament with top fighters and judges, as somebody who is not associated with the IKK i can assure you that this is the place to be in April, i always look forward to seeing the guys and enjoying a day of top class knockdown. This tournament is popular with our European friends and some real up and coming talent will be on show, this is not the place to come to "pot hunt" as people have found out in the past! I have booked my hotel and i can`t wait, i hope the IKKU put`s a good team in again this time..
