After trying on all my summer clothes and seeing them all straining slightly at the seams, it's back to a strict healthy eating plan for me.
I'm going to get rid of 2 stones by September. Easy peasy. ;D Actually, it always does seem to be easy peasy once I'm determined to do it - and it's always easier in the summer, what with all the salads and strawberries.

Sounds good Ros.
I need to lose some too as well.
Hoping the heavy conditioning will balance it out with some better eating.

I am not sure of the poundage but I am losing more on the waist. 34" pants are now a bit loose on the waist but not on my giant legs. LOL!

This week at work is 'Health and Wellbeing Week,' so there are all kinds of activities and measurements in the restaurant. Me and a colleague nipped down to get our body composition measured - I was pleased with the results: Weight = 71.9 Kg; BMI = 23.5; Total body fat = 33%; Total body water = 47.1%

Let's do some shameless thread resurrecting! My weight loss/fitness class leader has just created a website after going independent - and I'm featured: Ros before and after!

Well done Ros!
Do you miss that extra bit of power that being heavier gave you?
In the FB I liked being heavier as carrying kit was easier if I had more meat.

Thanks, all! Do you miss that extra bit of power that being heavier gave you? In the FB I liked being heavier as carrying kit was easier if I had more meat. I do, but it's been so long since I've been able to punch anything properly that I just miss whacking things full stop. I certainly feel more, well, 'delicate' I suppose, for want of a better word - I'd probably be floored by a little tickle! Oh well, more incentive to move out of the way!

I've been on the Slow Carb diet for the past 6 weeks based on Shihan Cameron Quinn's recommendation. I have dropped about 25 lbs so far. It's challening to go out to eat here but my wife does a wonderful job of making slow carb meals. I'm hoping to drop another 5-10 lbs before I take my next promotion test in 2 weeks.

Glad it's working for you Kurisu. I've reviewed this diet before and have to say that while some of the advice seems reasonable (avoid white bread, rice etc.), much of it is unscientific nonsense (such as cottage cheese speeds fat loss unlike all other dairy products)!
The best advice I read about it was this: skip the 4-hour body and opt for a 24-hour-365-day-a-year body, because you have to have an eating plan that makes sense that you can live with forever.

I didn't read the book, I just followed the guidelines Shihan Quinn had in his newsletter and found some great resources on the internet. I want to lose another 25-30 lbs. Once I reach that goal the trick will be to rebalance my diet so I can be in maintainence mode.
