Following the MilkMan's example, I'm starting a new log to reflect an evolving philosophy. Chronic pain and injury will be avoided (at least that's the plan). 2-6-15 -kb swings 4x50 -pull-ups, 4x15 -tekpi -neck bridges -kneeling to standing roll-outs, 10 -pinky knuckle planks, 30 secs (gotta start somewhere) Nice pump for the grip. Feeling like Popeye.

Good question. When I do the ATFLBRs I adopt the hollow body. Getting the front lever is still out of reach. In this particular work out, I have to say that I had just watched a vid of a Marine in dress blues knocking off 25 pull-ups. I just followed his example, but remained in my sweats instead of donning formal attire.

For liability purposes, the gyms here in Italy require you to get a doctor's note every year. The note, after a cursory exam or one more detailed, will say you are fit for competitive or non-competitive sport. During my exam the doctor put the blood pressure cuff on my right arm. I had thought that the left arm was the customary arm for taking blood pressure measurements. The doc, says while taking a reading, doing a double take, and reading again from the left arm that either side will do, and sometimes both arms are used in case there is an anomalous reading. Confirmed, 90/55. I do not know if this low reading is due to the exercise, or some trait I was born with. In either case, I take it as the go-ahead for more prosciutto and pizza with anchovies and capers.

LOL Meguro. My resting pulse last time was 39 and the Doc did a double take. Kettlebell swings are good for the heart.

Good work, MMX!
Frday the 13th workout 2-13-15 -kb snatches, 16kgs, 200 -tekpi -neck bridge -pinky knuckle plank
Trying to keep to my promise of no pain by scheduling a light work-out. Well, not really. I picked up the dumbbells and only then did the idea of a light day hit me.

2-15-15 -kb snatches (16 kg, 100) -tekpi -neck bridges -pk plank
2-16-15 -Tekpi
2-17-15 -db power C&P (2x55lbsx30) -pull-ups (16 kgs, 12x1) -tekpi -neck bridge -pk plank
Going back to using the rock rings instead of the straight bar for the pull-ups as the rings don't irritate my elbows. On the singles, I paused at the top and middle of the pull-ups, 5 seconds each.

I need to build a rig with rings.

Rings are friendly on your joints for sure. Rock Rings are also good for developing finger strength as they're intended for climbers.
Worked on tai otoshi "ish" takedowns at the dojo this evening. Instead of a sleeve grip, grab the elbow, instead of blocking right leg, block left. Still pumped.

Cheers, CB! I'd ask where you've been, but I know you've had your hands full lately. PK planks were on my mind for 4 years. I never got around to them because I didn't have a piece of lumber laying 'round the apartment. With the hand conditioning thread as new inspiration, I looked around my office and noticed all the books. Bingo. 2-18-15 -push-ups,60 -kb swings, 24kgs, 200 Quick and dirty workout. 2 sets of 100 swings in a little over 5 minutes. 2-19-15 -db cleans, 2x55 lbs, 21x1 -windshield wipers, 3x15 110 pounds is not a lot of weight to clean and front squat. Just a few seconds between reps and I am smoked. Keeping to the theme of no pain, some gain.

2-20-15 -pull-ups, 24 kgs, 8x1
Worked on arm bar and neck crank takedowns last night. Good stuff.
2-21-15 -kb swings, 24kgs, 2x100
I thought about the new kb cert recently posted. 200 swings of 32kgs, multiple switches and rests, sounds almost doable.

200 swings in 10 minutes with a 32kg is doable but a good test. I may try that for fun later on.
