I'm glad to have taken the time off from training. I met some cool folks. With kids, the parents of their friends become your friends.

Nice how are the elbows holding up? My elbows get angry when I do pull ups...

Soft tissue injuries are permanent, at least that's been my experience. The pain may go away, eventually, and you think you're healed. And then it returns like an old friend expecting to be put up for a few weeks. I feel like I've hit a wall as far as pulling goes. The elbow flares up if I try to do more than what I'm doing; same with my heel and upper back. Now there's an inexplicable ankle instability. I didn't roll it recently, so I have no clue as to the cause other than decrepitude. 4-30-15 -single arm, db C&PP, 30 kgs, 8x5 -db C&PP, 60 kgs, 5x3 -neck bridge, headstand, tekpi -2x1 min N-sit dead hangs 5-1-15 -pseudo planche leans -tuck planche holds -neck bridge, headstand, tekpi -pull-up, 10x1, 30 kgs, 1 min rests -Tabata rowing

5-2-15 -dips, 30 kgs, 10x3 OTM -Tekoi, neck bridge, headstand -frog stand -stretching & joint mobility
So I increased the weight a little bit on the dips and pull-ups. The reps are pretty low, so I hope the elbow situation doesn't worsen. I didn't comment on the Tabata rowing from yesterday, but it sucked as any Tabata interval can. I think it's ruined any sense of pacing I may have had for rowing. 2k, no way.

Friday night training question, train or socialize? Yeah, ain't that the old man's dilemma? What's up with that elbow of yours, Meguro? Osu!

I was chasing the Secret Service snatch test a while back. That's what originally started the golfer's elbow. I was twisting my arm a little too much at the top of the snatch, which when you think about it is the principle behind a joint lock. I stopped snatching kb's and the pain went away; started some one-armed pull-up progressions, and the pain came back a little more persistent.

5-4-15 -db frog stands -dips, 32.5 kgs, 10x3, OTM -ATFLBR, 25 -pull-ups, 32.5 kgs, 10x1 OTM -Tabata rowing -tekpi, neck bridge, headstand
Pretty happy about the frog stands. I've always done them on the floor with limited success. The balance thing eluded me. Gripping the db's enabled me to hold on to the frog stands for much longer. On the golfer's elbow, I started levering the machinist's hammer from side to side to strengthen the flexors.

You ever try that light dumb bell wrist curls I posted? That cured my golfers elbow and you do the reverse for Tennis elbow. Pretty awesome.

You know, I haven't done anything like rehab for the elbow since yesterday;mostly just kneading the sore spot, which as you know hasn't been too effective. K4L's question about my elbow made me reflect what I had not been doing, so yeah, light curls and levers.

5-7-15 -db frog stands (trying for sets of 30 consecutive secs) -db push press7x5, 2x30 kgs, 1 min rests -db front squat, 7x5, 2x30 kgs, 1 min rests -pull-ups, 30 kgs, 13x1, 1 min rests -tekpi, neck bridge, headstand
Yesterday was a flexibility and mobility day. I was a little shot from the previous night at the dojo:non-stop punching drills and sparring. I also did some elbow rehab using the hammer and a rubber band. Good stuff.

5-8-15 -db frog stands -dips, 10 (bw), 5 (28 kgs), 6x5 (32 kgs) -kb swings, 24 kgs 100 -tekpi, neck bridge, headstand
Triceps are a little sore today (maybe from yesterday's front squats, push-press or frog stands).
The current article on Ross Training is about a lightweight guy (154 lbs) who bench presses 400 lbs. This guy is slight, as the bodyweight might suggest, but strong. I like this stealthy approach.
Have a nice weekend.
