I'm taking a 3 day break from exercise to focus on technique. Yesterday was sweeps. Today was sai (tekpi) and machete. The tekpi is a natural blade or limb breaker, which makes it a natural companion weapon to a machete, unless you're very keen on dual wielding both of the same. Did some melee drills with the weapons which will come in handy when the SHTF. Tomorrow will be takedowns and joint locks.
I also picked up a training sickle (Kama, sai). It 'love be interesting pairing it with the other weapons.

Today was too humid to play with snatches. ( I don't want to peel my palms off again...)

Do you use chalk? Sweat bands will help keep your hands dry. I use thin, half-sleeve type guards which provide a bit of cushioning and soak up the perspiration.

All of the above sir! It has been like the deep south here in humid levels due to Tropical storm Javier coming in from Mexico.

i just spent a few days in Barcelona and I must say it's a special place. You want history, culture, friendly people, tasty food, business-it's all there. There's even a great beach. All this is to say I have not been training, except for the last couple days since I returned.
Yesterday: -ATFLBRS 30, dips 30 -kb snatches, 24kgs, 5x20
Today -ATFLBRS 31, Dips31 -front lever progressions (inverted dl lowers) -fat grip db front squats -roll-outs and straight arm flies
While wandering around Barcelona I noticed a martial arts shop tucked in amongst the cafes, bars etc., Fuji Sport. They had a Kyokushin dogi on display. I was tempted to ask them, " How much is that dogi in the window?"

" How much is that dogi in the window?" Terrible ! My wife calls it old man humour. She tells the kids not to encourage me. 8-20-16 -ATFLBRS & dips, 30 -front lever progressions -KB snatches, 24 kgs, 20x10 This is the long way to do 200 snatches as I would get lazy and rest too long between sets. 8-22-16 -ATFLBRS & dips, 30 -front lever progressions -KB snatches, 24 kgs, 3x40, 20, 2x30 I took the faster route to 200 snatches and ripped a callus in the process. Hate when that happens. I'm going to swing instead of snatch till the wound is less ouchy. The front lever progressions include uneven pull-ups, where one hand is lower than the other and therefore works less, and inverted dl (hangs) lowering slowly one leg straight the other bent at the knee.

8-24-16
-ATFLBRS & dips,30 (struggling with these when before they were easy warm-ups) -uneven pull-ups 2x5x2, inv. hang to ATFL -fat grip db front squats, 2x24kgs, 4x20 -fat grip db pp, 4x10 -frog stands and pseudo planche leans
My hand is snatch ready, but I thought I'd get more pressing in, even if only pp.

8-26-16 - 205 KB snatches, 24 kgs -ATFLBRS and dips, 3x10 Working on the bar after the KB snatches is a bit more challenging. Instead of one big set, I had to break up the rows and dips. I paused for water breaks while doing the snatches. This might cause you to wonder how long it takes me to snatch a KB 205 times: around 7 minutes for the first 100, and 33 minutes to get my head into completing the remainder. it's obvious I'm not going for speed records. I'm still working on building the work capacity. Speed will come. My hands are ok. 8-28-16 -fat grip db push press, 2x24kgs, 5x10 - fat grip db front squats, 2x24kgs, 5x10 -front lever progressions -frog stands -Swiss ball pseudo planche leans -uneven pull-ups, 2x5x2 Traded some messages with Iain Abernathy on FB about kata today. I was surprised he responded to me, cordially too. I can get stubborn like a terrier on this particular topic.

Right LOL!!! I got really good at hitting 60-70 snatches in under 3 minutes. It was the last 30-40 that seemed to really tax me. Right now building power. Will pursuit snatch again soon.

The trick is to get 100 or 200 to feel like the first 60-70. 8-31-16 -uneven pull-ups, 2x5x3 -kb snatches, 40, 40, 20

Right. Working on getting stronger and therefore 100 will be easier.

9-2-16 - 50 KB snatches - ATFLBRS & dips, 30 -dips, 24kgs, 8x5 -inverted hang to advanced tuck fl, 3x3, inverted hang to straddle fl -uneven pull-ups -50 KB snatches - sanchinish isometrics I broke up the snatches into two sets of 50, which will be the plan going forward. 200, even if broken up into many sets, is enough to put me off working out.
