I have had a conversation about jabbing too hard because I'd "wear myself out" with a "trainer" at my gym...amazes me what people "know". I have a headache...a job offer and another one on the way. Both with near equal pros and cons... OSU!

I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, there's no way you can prove anything!

If you have a weak jab folk will just walk through it

Gary, did you ever fight Mark Simmons? he was the first of Bernards boys to grade to sandan...any way he had a brilliant left jab that would stop you in your tracks, he tore the cartlidge at the front of my rib cage with it. It was a real show stopper and believe me it made you think twice about getting close.. from when he injured me I wanted a front jab like that... I'm still working on it

Thanks, though, I made a fairly expensive mistake, lol. Haven't decided which one, but I need to --soon. My stomach feels more like I'm 30 seconds away from unemployment rather than sitting pretty with a choice to make, lol. OSU!

Found out yesterday that the housemates I call "The Lost Boys" are moving out on the 12th of June.
SON OF A.
Okay first of all, I just found out that they never paid a security deposit. I know one of them has damaged the floor, at the very least. Who knows what else. -$600 they haven't paid.
Second of all, they owe over $600 in bills. Betchya they won't pay them!
Third of all, they did NOT give 30 days notice. A message on facebook saying "we're probably going to move sometime early June" is not 30 days notice. There has to be a specific move-out date. Why? Because otherwise we can't advertise the room, as we cannot give anyone a move-in date. Also, this guy has given notice 3 or 4 times at least since he moved here, but never followed through.
He moved his husband in WITHOUT NEGOTIATING IT WITH US! Didn't pay increased rent for an extra person. Didn't pay bills either, obviously.
I mean, I am glad they are leaving. They're messy and loud and inconsiderate and they keep me awake all hours of the night. They're close to 30 years old but still like little kids, obsessed with live action role playing games, comic books, and computer games... which a grown up can be too, but not like this.
Since the one who was working lost his job, they have barely cooked, and in the last two months, they haven't cooked at all. Just ordered food delivered.
And one is a trash hoarder. Guess who will get stuck with the bill of getting rid of all that trash, with no security deposit to cover clean-up?
Good riddance, but since they are moving out on the 12th, a Tuesday, in the middle of a month, I doubt we'll be able to find someone until at least June (if we're lucky) and we don't have any extra money to cover all this @#%%@$.
The most recent housemate we have is great. I really hope we can get a single good one for that room...
I hate this kind of thing so much!
Now I know why those two have been hiding out from me.

I'm confused.
Do you own the property? If so I'd be very inclined to kidnap their computer or something until all fees are paid and damage restored to an 'as new' state ...
If not, why are their bills your headache?
My sister used to let her house and call me to 'help' if tenants didn't play ball. It was never easy as the laziest bastards on gods green earth always seemed to know the law inside out. The police always seemed powerless to help my sister, but sided with the thieves (as that's what they were) when I 'suggested' they move on. She'd help people out as a favour then always end up out of pocket.
Not good.

We rent, we were subletting to them.
In the US, the utility bills are paid by the tenants. It's also illegal for us to take someone's property and hold it for ransom until they pay what they owe.
This is what happened to me, too. I loaned them my furniture, they ruined it with an "oh I'll just buy you a new one." Well of course the one that was working lost his job. He was a friend of long standing (over 10 years) so I let him move in without any reference checks. HUGE HUGE mistake, HUUUGE! Never again. Now I'd get reference checks for everyone but my own blood sister or parents.
There are ways in which you really just don't know someone until you've lived with them!

That's bad Ev but it isn't illegal for you to evict somebody for not paying what they were supposed to (yes, there are steps you must take), not letting them move in if they haven't paid the deposit, etc. I would never expect to move into a place without paying the deposit, so somebody isn't enforcing the rules on the "landlord side," like it or not, it's the truth. If the internet is from a community shared internet connection, disconnect their connection by changing the wifi router password, disconnecting their ethernet port, etc. If someone isn't paying their share, I wouldn't let them use what I'm paying for.
I'm sitting in anticipation because a great government job I interviewed for a few weeks ago started contacting my references yesterday....they haven't contacted me yet which would seem strange but the government jobs here in the USA is typically a "long" process. You can even be offered a job and then have to wait months for your security clearance to come through, etc. Typically, you are offered a job and start it two weeks later at the SOONEST.
It's a good sign that they're checking my references but not a guarantee I got the job, neither, like I said, the hiring process for these jobs is much different from civilian jobs. What this means is probably one of two things, they want to hire me, but are making sure my background checks out with my references first or that I'm in the top 1-3 applicants and they're going to make a decision based on what our references say.
The properfuct thing of all of this is that this is a 3 day weekend, so the soonest I will hear something is Tuesday, if I'm lucky. I about wrote the job off because a month passed from me applying which was about 3 weeks after the closing date before I was contacted for an interview.
Basically, I'm going to be sitting in some serious anticipation for the next 2-3 weeks, unless I hear something this coming week LOL. Osu!
