Yeah but blueberry cheesecake is worth it and if I remember correctly Meguro you are a pretty slim guy so I wouldn't worry. Got to treat yourself now and again ... Gary

Yeah, but the cheesecake was after the prime rib, mashed potatoes and vino.

I did get a couple days access to a gym while I was away visiting family the past two weeks. Db C&P burpees mostly with 50's, and some handstand pushups when no gym was available.
Yesterday was the first workout since returning home. 11-6-14 -C&P burpees (110 lbs, 5x5) -ATFLBRs 20 -pull-ups, 20 -kneeling to standing ab-wheel roll-outs, 3x10
A blast from the past, as I trotted out ab-wheel roll-outs for a go. The concentric portion is no problem. It's the eccentric portion from the feet that's still not quite there. All the while, I'm trying not to brace and hold my breath while doing any of the exercises with the aim of not spiking the bp.

Kneeling Ab wheels I am gold on. Standing ones I need to work on.

11-9-14 -ATFLBR 20 -5x (5 C&P burpees +5 kneeling to standing roll-outs) -neck isometrics
While visiting a sick relative, I noticed that her neck was the size of a linebacker's simply because she can't hold her head upright. Poor thing, her head lolls to one side or the other, and remains there. The tension builds up the muscle. Apart from the deep sadness, I am reminded, bastard that I am, that I ought to do more neck training.

Nothing I can't stand more than walking in the rain. I'll happily run in the rain, but walking is not for me. Maybe if I had a dog. Anyway, took a walk in the rain with some buddies who think walking is exercise and complained with every sodden step. Then, when I returned to my warm and dry home I worked out. 11-10-14 - 6x(50 kb swings + 25 sec bent arm hangs) - kneeling to standing roll-outs 3x10 - weighted neck nods and isometrics (8kgs) I used my foam roller as a fulcrum and an 8 kgs kb against my forehead to step up the neck training. Nods and holds with the 8 kgs kb were interesting. Going slowly with this because neck muscle strains can be, you know, a pain in the ass.

11-12-14 -6x (5db cheat curl press + 5 kneeling to standing rollouts) -25 ATFLBRs -2x5 one handed pull-ups with 10 sec holds -weighted neck nods and holds
I didn't feel like doing the burpees today so went with cheat curls to OHP.

I have had to approach burpees with caution ever since I tore the meniscus in my wrist. So my love/hate relationship with burpees is more like a maybe-if-I'm-drunk/hate relationship.
1-14-14 -6x (10 kb thruster + 5 kneeling to standing roll-outs) -26 ATFLBR -neck nods and holds
For each set of the thrusters, I'd do 5l and 5r with the 24kgs kb. I was envisioning 10x10, but the left hammy reminded me to ease up before I hurt myself.
Yesterday, my younger daughter thought it would be cute to put me in a rear naked choke. I was a bit surprised, since she usually doesn't show any interest in MA. Then I surprised her with a gentle drop seioinage to counter the choke. I hope the lesson sticks.

I think for me I am done with burpees. It was hate/hate relationship and between the KB work and crawling I am getting more than I did with them.

Ido Portal does some interesting things with crawling.
11-16-14 -ATFLBR 27 -one handed pull-ups, 2x2(1-3 ladders) -Dips 27 -C2 row nothing especially difficult

11-17-14 -pull-ups, 20 -dips, 20, 5x4 (16 kgs) -inverted dl to front levers, 5 - Tabata row
11-19-14 -C&P burpees (5x6) -kneeling to standing roll-outs (5x6)
So I signed my younger daughter up for fencing today. Unlike karate, the lessons are one on one, kinda like boxing, just the fighter (fencer) and the coach. Maybe not what we karate folk are accustomed to, but I think the individual attention pays off with a faster acquisition of competition level skills.

I took Shinkendo (Toshishiro Obata's school) and that was a lot of fun but I always wanted to learn "western" fencing.

11-24-14 -db Hang power clean, pp (10x5) -kneeling to standing roll-outs, (10x5) -Tabata row I left out the burpees to concentrate on the pressing. The Tabata row hurt, but only for a little while. My daughter started "sparring" today at fencing class. Her opponent was a younger, but more advanced boy. My little girl kicked butt. Then I sprained my ankle. . . walking. How lame is that?

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody heard it, did it happen? 11-26-14 -one-handed pull-ups, 2x10x1's -db C&P, 50, 2x55lbs -kneeling to standing roll-outs, 50 -neck isos and nods
11-27-14 -pull-ups and dips (19.75 kgs, 7x5) -Tabata row
I'm noting pain in the right forearm flexor from the one-handed pull-ups and weighted pulls. Not pleased with this development. The worst part of any Tabata is the 5th round, am I right? You've made it half way through and you realize you're only in the middle. Gaaah.
