I still hate them after quite a few years.

Spent a good part of the evening kneading the forearm flexor. Once the warrantee goes, everything falls apart.
11-28-14 -one arm kb thrusters, 24 kgs, 2x10x5 -neck nods and isos
A slow grind. Not difficult, just time consuming.

12-2-14 - C&P, 35 - roll-outs, 35 I cut this workout short because of the fore-arm flexor. I guess I am allergic to high- rep kb snatches and one handed pull-ups with sketchy technique.
At the dojo last night we worked on giving each other dead arms. It is like a knockdown class where all you focus on is the low kick, but instead you focus on throwing elbows and punches at the upper arm. All this is a prelude to arm-bar takedowns. Imagine ippon seioinage with a straight arm bar.

training has been stripped down to the bare minimum: 100 push-ups;100 squats/lunges; neck bridge. No training at the dojo as I'm reconnecting with family and dealing with probate lawyers. Ugh.

Missed about a month of training due to a death in the family. A lot goes through your mind at times like these, mortality, and not surprisingly strategies to improve and lengthen your time here. Wouldn't you know training is part of my big plan to hang on for a bit.
It's been a few days now that I've been reunited with my gear, and I did a couple workouts comprising swings and C&P's with the kb. Today's workout comprised: -2x3x15 kb snatches -3x10 kneeling to standing ab roll-outs
Yesterday's -4x50 kb swings -4x50 push-ups -4x50 neck bridge nods and circles
The day before yesterday -kb C&P 2x5x10 -20 ATFLBR -3x50 neck bridge nods and circles 3x10 kneeling to standing ab roll-outs -long shuffle through the hills

Sorry for your loss.
Yeah we all do a quick check up after things like this. I've lost a few old workmates recently and you suddenly realise you'll not be far behind.
So then your choice becomes "Should I worry, or just enjoy whatever length of life remains?" I choose the latter.

1-4-15 - DB C&P , (2x55 lbs, 6 x 1-4 ladders) - dips, 16 kgs, 6x10 - neck bridges I'm going for endurance with moderate resistance, if you haven't noticed by the weight and reps. Why? Laziness I guess. Actually, I like the cardio aspect and the feeling that after I'm done I could load a truck or pop someone in the nose.

1-5-15 - pull ups (20), 16 kgs (4x5) - kb swings, 4x50
Hardly worth mentioning, but just to keep track.
Today I spent a few minutes working on my honing technique. Ever since I tried to sharpen my already sharp, never pulled a whisker, straight razor a couple years ago, I haven't been able to shave with it. I botched the job so thoroughly. Every now and then I'd take out the whet stones and give it a go, only to be disappointed to discover that my disposable razor blades still gave me a better shave. Today, I modified the honing technique and managed to get the edge keen enough to clear a test spot on my arm, and render a so-so shave. Feedback! Now, I'm getting somewhere. Which brings me to kata (surprise).
What kind of feedback do you expect from doing all those repetitions of kata? How do you know what you are doing is doing anything?

1-6-15 - db c&p, 2x55 lbs, 7x(1-4 ladders) - 2x50 push-ups - neck bridges, 2min - 2x10 kneeling to standing roll-outs
The matrix. When I've got a lot of reps to do it helps to break-up the workout into manageable pieces. A ladder from 1-4 is equivalent to 10 reps, so as I progress, I add another ladder. Now when I lay all this out on paper, I get several rows of numbers from 1-4. To make it more interesting, I may do 7 singles, followed by 7 doubles, etc., or go across sequentially and then down. Just a little mind game I play to finish the workout.

Staring to look a bit like the ol' Kitchen Timer workouts of yore.

Kinda, sorta, MMX. . I do admit at a less frenzied pace. Back then I still was suffering from the tournament bug. Nowadays I don't have to worry about another competitor staning across from me. The threats now are sweets or me doing stupid things,

1-7-15 -pull-ups, 20;16 kgs commando grip 2x5x5 -kb swings, 24 kgs. 4x50 -push-ups 2x50 -kneeling to standing ab roll-uts 2x10
The weighted pull-ups are really annoying my right elbow.
1-8-15 - db C&P ladders, 2x55 lbs, 8x(1-4) ladders - neck bridges, 2 mins
This one took a bit of time. Down and across, 8 singles, 8 doubles, etc.
