1-11-15 -db C&P, 2x55 lbs, 10x (1-4 ladders)
More matrix fun. Started out with 10 singles, followed by 10 quads, put the 2's and 3's together for 10x5's to finish off 100 reps. A bit of a long workout for me.

I can't remember Meguro if you are doing a Clean to a Strict Press or a Push Press?

good question, MMX. Mostly strict, then somewhere in between. It's doable with low rep sets, but it takes a while as you can imagine.
A little tired today. 20 ATFLBR and a couple commando grip bent arm holds and I was done

1-14-15 -db C&P, 2x55 lbs, 53 No matter how I tried to game the matrix, I didn't have the steam so I pulled the plug half-way through.
It had been a while since I'd been in the dojo, so the partner drills were not going smoothly for me last night. The drills are like punching combos in a boxing gym, but include takedowns, locks and moving the partner around. It's everything that kata practice is not, different opponents, different timing and speeds, and much more valuable to me.

I missed dojo training last Friday. My kids were down with fevers and I was a little worn. Also, I wanted to be a little rested for the tekpi weekend in beautiful Desenzano, Italy on the shore of Lake Garda. I noticed that some of the guys were sporting tekpi thumb, bandages wrapped around tender blisters. Lucky me, all the kb and db work toughened up my hands for the training.
1-19-15 -kb swing 200, 24kgs, singles 4x50 -kb jerks 100, 24 kgs, singles, 2x5x10 -tekpi swinging and grip changes -neck bridges

1-20-15 -db C&P, 50, 2x55lbs 15 min -25 ATFLBR -commando grip, 16kgs, 2x3x6 -tekpi
I settled on 50 reps for the C&P because at this point, 100 is too punishing. I can manage 50 in a decent time without feeling wasted. The weighted pull-ups are still irritating my elbow so I've got to take some corrective action now. Maybe just bent arm hangs, or drop the weight.

1-21-15 -db squat cleans, 30, 2x55 lbs -db push press, 2x10 -ATFLBR's 26 -tekpi
When I do the C&P, it's the power version, receiving the weight standing tallish. With the squat clean, it feels like double the effort because I jump the weight up, catch it down low, then front squat it back up. All this to say that by 30 reps, I was done. I checked out a dead bug vid on YT, and it pretty much looks like the ATFLBR, except for my arms holding on to the pull-up bar and rowing. I need to blunt the tips on the tekpi or they are going to put lots of divots in my floor.

Two funerals in two months, I'm running out of family. Anyway, I'm a little jet-lagged but glad to be back with my wife and kids again. Calisthenics kept me from getting too soft. Even rebuilt a little more knuckle calluses.
