Nice work on the squats! Sots press, maybe? We were supposed to go to Florida next week, but it so happened that the family we were going with cancelled. So we are having a staycation. No gym time so I figure I would do some dedicated pressing throughout the week. I'll try the sots press along with long cycle pressing and HSPU. TGU too.

Back from staycation. A little bit of LC pressing, a lot of cleaning and cleans of 30lb and 19lb children.
I managed to pick up Return of the Kettlebell for 20 bucks on Amazon. The listing was for a acceptable, but what I received was a brand new copy.
Back to the 5/3/1 this week, but no gym today because of work catch up.

Nice score. I heard with that book that the DVD is almost necessary. You will have to let me know.

Definitely will MMX. Just eyeballing it, there were a few KB exercises (particularly the KB side snatch) that had me scratching my bald noggin.
I think the double kettlebell techniques are the gems in that series.
Just an eyeball will report back more or better.
Bench Press (135, 155, 175) Dead Lift (165, 190, 215) OH Press (80, 95, 105) Squat (160, 185, 210)
Bench Press and OH Press are the same. DL up 10lbs, Squats up 5 lbs
Will not progress OHP or BP until I can hit 5 x 195 on BP and 5 x 120 on OHP

Thank Meguro! I really love the OHP and DL. The SQ is okay and the BP is meh.
I will be happy at 200 x 5 at the peak of a Cycle on the BP. The Squat just keep pushing it along.

Bench Press (135, 155, 175) Dead Lift (165, 190, 215) 5/5/10 OH Press (80, 95, 105) Squat (160, 185, 210)
Surprised by the 10s with the 215 DL.
Finished with 20 swings on the minute for 10 minutes with the 50lb DB.
Tried to use a single hand grip on the handle first, but it felt awkward so switched to two hands on the head of the DB.
Concluded with some light shadowboxing for 15 minutes.
Will be adding more assistance work to each session from here on out to the end of the year.

Looks good.
How are your shoulders holding up?
When I was benching heavy my shoulders got tight and stiff.

Not bad I suppose. I haven't done a TGU in a while, but my shoulders feel healthy.
The only time I ever feel pain in my shoulder joint is after extremely high repetitions of Jabs. Most likely from poor jab technique.
I try to make it a point to only do what's required for the bench press that week and make sure that I am going through the full range of motion.
I don't think the BP is a bad exercise, but it does get a bad wrap for the emphasis on use for appearance.
I have been considering switching to DB BP.

Bench Press (135, 155, 175) Dead Lift (165, 190, 215) 5/5/10 OH Press (80, 95, 105) Squat (160, 185, 210) 5/5/6
Finished with some heavy bag work. Felt good to shake out the soreness.
Posterior chain DOMS from deadlifts the last session.
Hopefully in the gym for some pressing and pull up ladders tomorrow.

^^^ Yeah my house were like Burger King the pull up bar would hang all the time.
It has been deemed not baby proof because it has fallen on little munchkins trying to close doors.
OH Press (80, 95, 105) Nixed.
Instead subbed it for DB OH Press/Pull up ladders with two 50# DBs
Warmed up with Halos and Cork Screws (1 press/pull, 2 press/pull, 3 press/pull) x 3
Finished with weighted shadow boxing for shoulder conditioning. Dropped the weights and more of the same as a cool down focusing on moving around and loosening up the body.
Shoulders say, "Feels good."

There are only a couple places to hang my door-way pull-up bar: bathroom and kitchen. For GTG and modesty, the kitchen works out better.
It's been a while since we had the house child-proofed, I forget.

We were putting away the bottles because my 9 month old son doesn't take them.
As I was wrapping and storing em up, I was getting that eerie feeling that I would be seeing them again.
I hope that my spidey sense is wrong. At least for another 3 - 4 years. Two boys is plenty!
My PU bar has been banished to the bathroom. I guess I can associate pull ups with bathroom breaks. It used to be trips to the kitchen equal pull ups.
