Good on ya Ros! How's the back feeling? I'm still a bit limited but it's definitely getting better, thanks for asking!

Gym TrainingLast night I said to Monty, let's push it out tomorrow in the gym, so today was a bit of a killer! We started on the heavy bag and did 5 rounds of 15 secs all out, 15 secs hold the bag and 15 secs jogging. Same thing for 30 seconds and then again for 45 seconds. It sounds easier written down but my legs were very wobbly by the time we got to the final 45 seconds! ;D We stayed on the bag to do 30 second rounds of mawashi geris off each leg. Then we got the Sabaki pads out to do rounds of mawashi geri/ushiro mawashi kake geri off each leg We finished off with some kata practice - green belt to the count and against an opponent and brown belt twice against an opponent. Felt great afterwards and I rewarded my efforts with a bowl of porridge. Woo hoo!

Arrived at my hotel last night ready to hit the gym only to discover it closed at 5pm! Luckily the room is quite big so: YesterdayWhite belt kata 5 burpees, crunches, press-ups Blue belt kata 4 burpees, crunches, press-ups Green belt kata 3 burpees, crunches, press-ups Brown blet kata 2 burpees, crunches, press-ups 7am in the gymRunning machine, walking on a high incline for 7 minutes. Sprint for 30 secs, then walk for 1 minute 15 jump squats 15 overhead presses Sprint 30 secs, walk 1 min 15 tricep extensions 15 burpees 1 min sprint, 90 sec jog High incline walk for 1 minute Finished off with a rowing tabata (ended up rowing the machine into the wall!) I noticed there is a 'hardcore workout' tomorrow evening which I might see if I can sign up for.

Good for you Ros!
Glad to see you're feeling better (and slightly shamed that on my holiday I did no formal exercise at all)
Mind you, she-who-must-be-obeyed always removes any training gear I try to pack ...

...and slightly shamed that on my holiday I did no formal exercise at all... Ha ha, I'm fairly sure you're allowed to slack off on holiday. Decided to hit the gym again last night - sadly full of posey men standing round the weights and not doing much of anything, so I stuck to the machines and did: 10 minutes various walk/jog/sprint on the runner 10 minutes on the rower 10 minute hill climb programme on the bike Went again this morning and started with: 10 minutes various walk/jog/sprint on the runner 10 over head presses 10 push ups 10 crunches 10 lateral raises 30 sec sprint/1 min jog Found a med ball and did 30 sec slams 10 supermans Rowing tabata to finish I'm fairly sure I'll end up doing something very similar tomorrow as well!

Awesome Ros.
I do not miss seeing that when I use to go to a Gym. I have more fun working out in the backyard while my dogs run around.

I hope you sprayed sweat all over their lycra shorts ... It seems as if the gym fashion now is for tight tops and then 3/4 length bottoms with the crotch down to the knee and the arse hanging out! How are you meant to do a workout with your arse hanging out?? Fecking eejits. ;D

Dojo training
Ooh, it was a good one tonight!
Quick warm-up of punch and kick combos beofre moving onto kata. The first kata was 'midori obi no kata'. My head said 'right, white belt kata, wait no, blue belt kata...arrggghhhh' ;D Second time round was OK though. We went through green belt kata several times, increasing power and speed and then we worked on it against several different opponents.
We then moved on to some of the drills we did on Saturday: long range attacks, mid range attacks and close range attacks and then mixing them up. Important thing to note - keep moving and don't just wait for the attack.
We gathered in for a little chat about getting rid of Stephen Hawking's treadmill.
Any luck finding Roger yet, Gary?

LOL
I've tracked it down so we'll be game on soon. What do you think? £1.00 in the charity box if we can't put a link to Roger in?
We might even educate our US friends in the noble art of smut and innuendo.

We gathered in for a little chat about getting rid of Stephen Hawking's treadmill. I can't believe I bothered talking about it TBH. If people want to train with us they've got to toughen up a bit - mentally - and use the verbal to spur them on. Too many want it the easy way. Gary Snip Snip
