I reckon you should put £1 into a fund for everytime you post a "Rogerism", then if you manage to get Clagnuts or Dangleberries into a Training log you take the pot Nice but I can think of harder ones I'd like to slip in!

Dojo trainingMan oh man, I'm cooked! Let's just say the warm-up involved some playing cards. As Monty said, at this point we knew things weren't going to be easy tonight. Once we were all good and sweaty, we went through the kihon strikes and blocks, a few combinations and a 90 kick combo. We moved onto kata with a partner doing the attacks. No count and no particular angles. We got into threes and took it in turns to be in the middle, defending against long range attacks and then short range attacks. The threes became fours and one person was in the middle while the other three tried to get behind them. Let's put it this way - I've had three-on-ones that were more fun! The final thing was 12 burpees, 12 sit-ups, 12 press-ups and 12 sprints. For some reason, when I got to the sprints, my head said 'Go on Ros, put your foot down and you can beat a couple of people.' So I put my foot down, about killing myself (but did manage the overtakes!) and then we did it again with 6 repeats and my body was telling me not to put my foot down but I couldn't help it and sped up again on the last sprints. Could barely breathe but again managed a couple of overtakes. Heh. ;D It wasn't just me knackered though, I think everyone had an arse angel going on.

Saturday TrainingI haven't done a Saturday for a while due to work commitments, and you know how you kind of forget pain? Well it all came flooding back today! ;D Nah, just kidding but we all know Gary's horribleness-meter goes up to 11. Started on the bags with various times of close range, long range, pulling round, burpees etc. Then into groups of 3 or 4 with alternate attacks and take-downs, with the attacker becoming the defender. We followed that by getting into groups of 3 and 1 person being attacking for the entire time - with one person trying to get round them and slap them on the back. I sat out for being taken down (well, I worked the bag!) but joined in to be the one in the middle. Final nastiness (we thought) was in threes with 2 alternately kicking the bag and one holding the bag, rotating every minute. Everyone was about falling down but there was still the finisher to come - 12 burpees, sit-ups, press-ups and then shuttle runs. I wasn't even doing burpees and I was still as wet as Rod Hull's roof!

Saturday's Dilatory Write-up!
You may have noticed that Saturday's write-up normally gets done quite quickly on Saturday morning. Look what happens when a combination of Monty not being there and not having the netbook in the pub leads to!
As Gary said, it was a little different today. Instead of 15-20 minutes bag work we did short rounds of specific techniques with an emphasis on impact. One held the bag, one jogged and one did the techniques:
Front punch, reverse punch Front punch, reverse punch, shovel hook Front punch, reverse punch, shovel hook, break to the outside and mawashi geri Mawashi geri - over a pile of kick shields to help with getting the right angle (we're going to have to try this on our own) 15 second all out punches
All rounds repeated three times each.
We then moved off the bag and took it in turns to attack with a kick, your opponent trying to get into a position to do the three punches and mawashi geri.
Finished off with some running/press-ups/sit-ups/jump-squats/burpee nastiness.
The added bonus of not doing the write-up until Monday means that I can comment on the after effects - my shoulders and upper arms are f***ing killing me! ;D
