Letter From Pavel Tsatsouline Regarding the Future of the RKC
Ladies and gentlemen of RKC,
Due to the differences in vision between the RKC co-founders RKC will cease to exist in its current form on July 1, 2013, the day after the last scheduled RKC event.
Power by Pavel, Inc. will continue licensing its RKC manuals and its 50% stake in the RKC name and logo to Dragon Door until that date and only for the events already announced, in order to honor the co mmitment to the people who signed up for these workshops. Then PBP will terminate the license.
RKC was set up as a joint venture between Dragon Door and Tactical Strength, my other company, with DD providing marketing and administration and TS providing leadership and hands on instruction.
Tactical Strength, Inc., is removing itself from the RKC operation on October 29, the day after the last RKC event I had committed to teach at.
I intend to pursue my vision of RKC elsewhere, under a different name, details to be announced in a few weeks. I am sure John will do the same and I wish him best.
Power to you!
Pavel Tsatsouline
Chief RKC Instructor

Everything changes. Not always for the better.
I'll be interested to see if certification gets CHEAPER under the new set up(s) or if prices rise. I've seen the 'differences in vision' splits before as a code for "I wasn't making enough money"

Wow. Did not see that see coming but I am not surprised. Now do I pursue rkc certification still or wait to see what Pavel cooks up? I bet the dragondoor forums are exploding right now..

Interesting to see some of the sentiment of the posters on DD regarding Pavel and Kettlebells.
I wonder if this is what it felt like when the first of the kyokushin groups started to splinter off.

Maybe it'll take a while for the dust to settle, with groups on both sides claiming the other side sold out or lost their way. Then hopefully people will start working together again to push the common good. Sounds familiar ... Gary

There have been many great RKC that have branched off on their own ie Cotter, Maxwell, Mahler.
It will be interesting to see what takes place.

Well whatever is happened has gotten worse. Pavel is teaching in Hungary and his account is now banned on the Dragondoor forums..
Something is shady with this thing. I have no idea but it certainly seems fishy.

I wonder if honoring the current form until July 2013 will be null and void.
Thanks for the update MMX.

Pavel sent a letter to the RKC group on FB.
He is going to re-organize his vision of the RKC and it seems most of the team leaders are going with him.
Sounds like he and John(founder of DragonDoor) has a disagreement about licensing or something.
I may wait to certify till the dust settles...

Nice! I wanted to certify a while back but it was so expensive and we didn't have the room for it.
I am thinking for the dojo having an HKC wouldn't hurt. It sucks that they took away the program to apply the funds paid on HKC towards an application to the RKC program.

I thought about DD but it was ridiculously expensive IMO. So I did an instructors course locally. Tough, intense, good coaching. Passed, put on their instructor database for life with no annual dues, half price refresher courses. What's not to like? Gary optimallifefitness.com/PS Considering their Olympic lifting course later this year after hearing good reviews. 'Ave it!

Well November 1st is when Pavel can announce his new group. Already Mark Reifkind and Dave Whitley are joining him. As far as I am concerned I will probably certify with this new group.

On FB, there is a new page called "StrongFirst" headed up by Mark Toomey, I think he was either a former Senior or Master RKC. I think this is might be the new group Pavel is heading up.
