I have just been monitoring portions and watching excessive bread. Slimming down nicely and that is with weekend beer consumption. Mind you the beers I drink are not made with terrible filler(corn sugars)like your American big brand crap so that helps.

I've lost a few pounds since moving. Definitely been drinking more wine and eating more carbs, and who am I kidding, more everything (cheese, ham, salami, cake, bread, pasta). Don't know what I'm doing less of to account for the weight loss.

Don't know what I'm doing less of to account for the weight loss. Self-reporting and perception of calorie consumption is almost unbelievably unreliable. Several studies have shown that people struggling to lose weight who reckon they don't eat very much actually consume far more calories than they think and conversely, people who don't struggle with their weight who reckon they eat llike horses, don't actually eat that much. You'd probably be surprised if you worked it all out. Anyhoo, I had my first weigh-in last week and have lost 5 pounds. Second weigh-in tomorrow night, I'm hoping for another 2 or 3.

Now that I think of it, I haven't had any almond butter or peanut butter since the relocation. I would have thought the gelato would more than make up for it. Must eat more gelato. Congrats on the weight loss!

I was advised to eat some wholemeal bread on commencing warfarin treatment.
Why? It's essential to - ahem - keep things moving freely as any straining could cause bleeding. So plenty of fibre it is then.
Net result? 5 kilo's lost and no strain. I love wholemeal bread.
:-)

Mmmm, peanut butter (sandwiched with Nutella on cream crackers).
Mmmm, gelato (with anything).
Mmmm, wholemeal bread (with butter and marmite)!
Everyone needs to stop talking about food as I get more obsessed than usual when it's restricted. ;D

Yeah, easy peasy. I find that if I have the right motivation and focus I can amaze others with my determination. Unfortunately, if I don't then I amaze myself with my staggering torpidity! It's just a pity that finding the motivation is sometimes easier said than done.

I hit my first weight-loss target this week of 1 stone (6 weeks - 14.5 pounds lost), which I'm really pleased with; back to what I weighed in at at last year's British Open! I'm now aiming for a final stone.
