Not planning to cycle it, just watch what I eat, have the odd treat and not worry if I miss the odd meal.
Life's too short ...

I agree. I have found that I have more time with my boys in the morning during fasting days because I don't have to worry about eating or cooking for myself (packing lunch) etc. It's a wonder how much communication improves when we aren't chewing. And they say refusing food at a guest's house is rude manners.

Q: How do you avoid eating crap?
A:
1) Don't buy it 2) If in doubt, refer to rule 1

It's official. Bread doesn't like me. I've been cutting it down then due to a combination of circumstances (and weakness) yesterday I ended up eating some at breakfast (toast), lunch (bagel), and then three hot dogs at a firework party ... So I spent the whole night with a feeling like someone had connected my stomach to an airline and inflated me to about 10 bars pressure. Uncomfortable in the extreme. So I'm back to cutting it right down ... Gary

I sort of feel bad posting my diet here, but over the past few days my diet has been quite decadent. We have three generations stuffed into my sister's apartment, no school and no work due to the storm damage, but we have power and the supermarket is open as of 2 days ago, and the wine merchant just opened up. What are you going to do? Stress eat! Braised pork loin, mashed potatoes, kale salad, red wine, dessert wine, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, vanilla ice cream.
Eat while you can. You never know when the next warm meal might be, and a Nor' easter is heading this way in a couple days.

Why feel bad? Traditionally we've always 'stocked up' our fat stores when we see difficult times ahead.
Hoping your family enjoys the shared experience. Bad events can pull you together so there's always a silver lining.

Hmmm Considered that but I've eaten the same brand before with no drama. I'm not trying to be a caveman here, but as we've discussed before I wonder if I've got some kind of intolerance. My mother suffered with stomach troubles for years but that's cleared up since she stopped eating bread. So the truth is, I just don't know. Although it might be 'all in my mind' or 'placebo effect', cutting down makes my gut feel better. Gary

It's notoriously difficult (even for health professionals) to diagnose food intolerances and to do it properly would probably involve elimination tests and food challenges.
If you are intolerant to wheat or gluten you would likely get the same symptoms if you ate any baked goods like cakes or biscuits, and probably things like sausages and meatballs (and maybe hotdogs!) too.
If you feel better without it though, that's fine - I mean, if your body hasn't managed to adapt in the twenty or so thousand years we've been growing wheat for agriculture and everyone else's has... ;D ;D
