Ros and I watched 13 Assassins last Monday, Both of us thought it was a good film. I'm actually in two minds as to whether the run up to the big finale was better than the big finale itself.
We've just had Apocalypse Now delivered by Love Film, looking forward to watching that on Saturday.

Saw Fair Game, starring Naomi Watts and Sean Penn on DVD. It's a film about the outing of CIA officer Valerie Plame. The Plame and Joe Wilson commentary feature is interesting.

The Hangover 2 was well worth the price of admission. It had the same story line as the original, but with that cast it is hard to go wrong.

Saw the new X-men movie and liked it, was better than I expected it to be. Kind of a couple of cameos (very brief) by a few familiar faces if you've watched all the other movies. Osu!

Friday: "Osama," first film out of Afghanistan after the Taliban fell. Great movie if you want to curl up in a ball and weep for a couple hours.
This morning: "Lust, Caution." From China, a great film but it left me feeling all mixed up inside!

We watched "The Orphanage" at the weekend. A Guillermo del Toro film. Quite enjoyable(if that's the word) if a bit weak in parts. Glad to say that I didn't spot what had happened until it was revealed(trying not to spoil it for anyone who's thinking of watching it). I'm sure Ros will chuckle to herself about my question after it had finished... "Oh she was ............. then" "Well they hardly would have ................ would they"

just back from Transformers 3. Go to www.toplessrobot.com for some snarky reviews of scenes if you've already seen it. Pretty much sums up all the plot holes. That said, it was eye candy and I actually liked it more than Green lantern.

Yesterday I saw my horse! He stood so still, ignoring all the biting flies and horses milling around, his silvery velvety nose smashed up against my chest, listening to every word I whispered into his ear with the whole of his being. He didn't understand the words but he understood that I needed him to be strong for a bit. He let me cradle his head and kiss the little pink snip on his nose and get his hair all wet with tears. I feel so much better, and a lot more ready to face the coming months.

That 3rd one was really cool. Optimus brought a can of whoop ass to this movie. ;D

I've never understood the people who complained about the Bay Transformers movies being nonsensical and stupid, because that's what the original show was: Nonsensical toy selling garbage with annoying human characters. So, the way I view it, as long as giant fighting robots are exploding all over the place, I don't really have any reason to complain.
Now, if Bay applied the same treatment to one of the other actually somewhat well written Transformers shows, like Beast Wars or Animated or Prime, I might actually feel inclined to be critical about them.
