Just back from watching 'Early Man' a Nick Park(Wallace and Gromit) animation about a Stone age tribe coming up against a Bronze Age empire.
Not as funny as his other films but an ok watch for a lazy sunday morning.

Anybody catch Black Panther or The Shape of Water/? I'm a bit wary of all the hype over BP, like it's some feel good pap to make a segment of the population forget the daily grind of blackness. It's like the time of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? and To Sir With Love never ended, which is disheartening. I'm planning on seeing SOW.

Shape of water was good if a little bonkers Sally Hawkins is good in it. I thought it lost its way a bit about half way through but then got it back for the end. Have you read that they are getting sued because it very(61 similarities) similar to an old film.

A friend of mine once submitted an idea to a popular television show. He was a writer looking for work. They took the idea; it became a staple bit in the show; he got nothing.

I enjoyed Black Panther a lot but this is from someone who really enjoys this MARVEL STUDIOS experience. It is a lot more focused on just the origin of the Black Panther and his history but does tie into some stuff that will be huge in AVENGERS Infinity War.

Yesterday we watched 'I, Tonya' a not quite documentary about Tonya Harding and 'the incident' (as they refer to it) with Nancy Kerrigan.
Really enjoyable film, quite funny in parts. Didn't like the CGI in the ice dance scenes(I was out voted by Ros and Heather on that point)

I can't beleive I haven't written up 'Ghost Stories'! It's a British horror film that was adapted from a stage show. A psychic De-bunker is asked to look at 3 cases that start to make him believe. I can't say much more about the plot as it would give stuff away. Let's just say it's proper scary with a splash of humour. What's that Barty? Is it time for Meow Meow Then this weekend we went to see 'A Quiet Place', another horror with an interesting plot. The world has been infested with Monsters that hunt only by sound. What a great time for mother of 3 (give or take) to decide to have a baby!! It was actually quite good, not as good as the above but the time went quickly. There were however some members of the audience who would have been first on the Monsters menu if ya know what I mean And there were trailers for Deadpool 2 and Avengers Infinity War

Another catch up post
Watched Avengers-Inifinity War. Thought it was good and the time flew by. The story was good but didn't know it wasn't actually going to finish in this film (4 more I heard). I was told by a colleague to stay right until the end but the light came up and I thought he'd got it wrong so we left. Luckily he caught us up on what happened in the final scene.
The today we watched Deadpool 2, no where near as funny as the first one but there were a few laughs and lots of action. I'm glad we watched it but probably would have enjoyed it just as much if we waited for it to come out on DVD.
Oh and we also watched 'Paris is Burning' a documentary about the Drag scene of 70's New York. If you are a fan of RuPaul's Drag Race(and let's face it who isn't ?) then this is defo worth a watch.
