Yeah, I also saw Thor-Ragnarok yesterday. It's interesting to see how different directors approach the same formula. The humorous take is much appreciated.
I saw the film in one of those theaters where seating is limited as the seats have been converted to leather covered lounges chairs with integrated cocktail tables. I would have preferred a normal theater, but since I already parked the car,I paid up and got some sliders, and parmesan/truffle french fries to decorate the table.

I saw THOR yesterday. AWESOME. A total fun ride from start to finish. I loved that they really infused the Jack Kirby Art influence in this one!

Just got back from Justice League. I am suffering from super-hero fatigue. . . or this movie was not awesome. The best lines in the movie are in the trailers, which makes the rest of the dialogue meh. The producers should have used their budget more wisely.

Not so much a train wreck. The build up was like revving the engine of a super car, and the release was like stalling at the start and then crossing the finish line in shame. The introduction of Flash and Aquaman showed promise. The Cyborg character seemed like Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of Iron Man after he downed an entire bottle of Robitussin and was told that his dog died. My frustration with this genre is that real existential threats do exist and superheroes are not required. People coming to their senses, however seems as unlikely as some superhuman intervention.

Saw Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri with my younger daughter the night before leaving Italy. The theater was unusually packed for a Wednesday night in Florence. It's a black comedy. who-done it, revenge film that hooks you from start to finish. Great cast and snappy dialogue.

We are going to see it tomorrow Last week we went to see 'Blade of the Immortal' a Miike Takashi romp about a Samurai(or maybe Ronin) who is immortal and is battling to avenge his (half wit ) sister. Lots of severed limbs and blood and guts Next week we are doing a Tarantino course at the Cinema, not sure what it involves but should be fun

I was actually pumping my fist when the priest visited. ( I was curious how the Italian audience would take it, but they seemed to enjoy it too)

Well, the Tarantino course was good.
We discussed Genre films and how he subverts Genre.
i actually never thought I'd be sat in a room of 30 people discussing feminism and postfeminism in relation to tarantino movies !

i actually never thought I'd be sat in a room of 30 people discussing feminism and postfeminism in relation to tarantino movies ! Cool! Is Tarantino considered a feminist? Though he likes to feature strong female leads (subversion?), they're often in cat suits or miniskirts (same ol' same ol'). Sounds like a fun afternoon!

Watched Denial last night, the true story of a british holocaust denier who tries to sue an amercian historian/author for defermation of character.
A good Courtroom drama.
