Easy peasy, sort of.
7-15-15 -frog stands -kb snatches,100, 24 kgs
It took about 15 minutes to do 100 snatches. Obviously, I was not racing, but I wanted to know how long the task would take with a lot of breaks. First, form was important lest I screw up my elbow again. Form, check. Second, my grip softened up quit a bit, so baby hands required a less than aggressive approach. Third, I had lost snatching condition.
So, I finished 100 with no elbow pain which is good. The raw hands and conditioning will come back soon enough.

I took a long weekend with the family at Lago di Garda, where conveniently there was a Silat summer camp. Worked on position for takedowns, uchi uke/gedan barai for arm-bar takedowns, takedown into crucifixes. While I was training, my wife and kids went cycling, swimming and sight-seeing. Good times for all. 7-23-15 -kb snatches, 24 kgs, 10x10, 11'17" -frogstands -ATFLBRs, 20 -Swiss ball pseudo planche push-ups and leans So, grip and snatch form improved a bit since the last time. No blood blisters or torn skin. Conditioning is not there yet.

7-24-15 -kb snatch, 16, 10x10 -Franish, db cheat curls to push press/ATFLBR, 90 lbs, 21,15,9
Warming up with the 16 kg kb was all I could manage. The 24 felt heavy today. Squating also felt a little too much, hence the cheat curls instead of thrusters. Next time.

Same place, just an old building. Most of the residents relocate during the summer. Just mosquitoes, tourists and us left now.

8-1-15 -ATFLBRs, 20,14 -2k row, 8'01"00
Took some day trips over the weekend, Siena on Saturday, Arezzo on Sunday. I've decided to space the rowing, as back to back sessions don't leave me enough time to recover.

I'm stateside with my younger daughter, visiting grandma. Hitting the gym every other day with my daughter. She uses the treadmill or elliptical, while I do 10x5 thrusters with the 55lbs db's. I tried to set up a Seienchin applications workshop with Dent, Bob H, Joe C, and Sato for some diversion, unfortunately everybody was not available on the same day. Too bad, because everyone was interested, . . just not on the same day. Oh well, I'll be busy talking to accountants, lawyers and listening to elevator music.

What do you get when two karate nerds get together? I met with Dent yesterday, who kindly volunteered to help me clear out my parents' house of stuff in preparation for its sale. Wouldn't you know it, karate works its way into the conversation and the next thing you know it's a seienchin/saifa workshop. 8-23-15 -thrusters: (4x2x55lbsx5reps)+(3x2x50lbsx5reps) -L-sit pull-ups 7x5 I was shooting for 100 thrusters but stopped before I hurt myself. Live to train another day.

I've been remiss about posting my workouts. Not to worry, you didn't miss much. More of the same, one day on one day off of thrusters and pull-ups. The format is one minute of rest between each set. The reps are anywhere from 3-5. The db's are 24 kgs, and the pull-ups, as of last week, are the L-sit, side to side variety. Long term goals are 100 thrusters with 2x24 kgs db's and a one armed pull-up. No real rush to get there. The thrusters will take some grinding. On the OAPU, a one armed bent arm hang feels doable in the near term.

9-9-15 -thrusters,13x3, on the minute -L-sit, side to side pull-ups 4x6 -Headstand, frog stands -ATFLBRs, 20
On the side to side pull-ups, I'm concentrating on eliminating any support from the support arm. I was surprised that my balance didn't deteriorate after ignoring the frog/head stands for a bit.

Nah all that Headstand/Frogstands are strengthening your Vestibular system and making your body better able to adjust to balance and tension.
